View Full Version : Signature Limitations

Hi,

Unfortunately signature sizes have got out of hand for some users.

Therefore the following rules will apply for signatures. Could everyone please check their signatures and ensure they meet these new guidelines.

- Limited to one image per signature or a short text.
- 400*200 maximum
- 30k maximum

These forums are visited by users with all types of connections and the current situation means that users on dial-up are waiting too long for signatures to download.

The moderators will ensure that these new guidelines are enforced.

Nothing so exciting, just getting rid of the "Originally posted at..." dross at the start of the post that the forum software adds when it's copied from an earlier thread.

I cant be bothered with the script BS anymore... Why? Well it seems obvious to me that in a few weeks/months UBI will decide another word, vital to scripts will need to become a dirty word and the headache starts again.

I will stick to my Sigs and the default avatar. Well I like the dice anyway because it feels just correct when I post here or fly online.

Chances are I am gonna get some n00b PM me to let me know he thinks I suck or online I am gonna get shot down and gain a kill on a 50/50% basis. So thank you my lucky dice keep me safe from harm/i/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

Aye, brother, aye!

Just another quirky UBI glitch, I suppose.

But where did Pope get the idea that scripts had been banned by executive order?

Anyway, I'm glad they're back because I can't stand the default grey of these forums./i/smilies/16x16_smiley-tongue.gif

There's a rumour circeling UBI forums that scripts are being banned in posts due to the potential risk it impose.

I'm trying to get this confirmed but ya'll know it's weekend and all.

I know scripts can mess threads up but I'm with commie on this one; the std greyish is just so std.

Will ubi ever upgrade the poor choices of avtars?

The admins have (finally) deemed scripts to be a security risk. If you have a script in your signature, please remove it ASAP. For those that don't know what I'm talking about, a 's,cript' refers to <sc,ript> tags and everything between them. Thanks.

Normal HTML formatting is still perfectly okay.

Testing, does my sig rock?

It's an awesome clipped-wing Spit superimposed over a coastal photo I shot on the Canadian East Coast in northern New Brunswick, and has grown to be one of my favorite pictures because it allows me to reflect on enjoyable days gone by as well as ponder with anticipation the days yet to come and the depth of the blue sky (enhanced with Cokin blue/yellow filter along with a Polarized filter /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif ) causes an overwhelming catharsis of emotion in me while simultaneously reminding me of a fantastic two-week camping trip across eastern Canada with a special lady where we lived out of my Jeep and moved around on a whim, and that landed us one particularly magical day eating a coleman-stove cooked dinner of Lobster and clams cooked in a white wine onion butter sauce prepared and eaten at a picnic table situated on the grounds of one of the eastern-most lighthouses of Canada in PEI, Prince Edward Island, where the dinner was excuisite (hey, I can cook lobster, what can I say /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif ), and was followed by us kicking back and watching the sunset while finishing the chilled white wine in our glasses, waiting for the coffee to brew so we could pour it into the waiting mug of Kahlua and Bailey's, which we would enjoy over a hearty chuckle about the signature limitations and potential hazards posed by javascript-gone-wild over at UBI.

Ah yes, the good old days. /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

I thought the story might either a) distract from the issue or b) give rationalization for why I can't crop any more as I've already cropped the bottom 60% from the coast and any more and it would just be a blue sky, you know?

I feel EXACTLY the same bro!

I don't think the fast lane should be affected by limitations to please the 56k'rz. They shouldn't be anywhere near this sim nor it's forum.

I want to see streaming high quality 120mb FB vids here and more of those beautiful screenshots so I can kick back on my couch and browse them at 1600x1200 on my 3mb cable!!!

Ban 56k'rz
Ban laggers

Although, I will play by the rules. S!

Those giant pics under each damn post make me sick anyway. Scroll 5 screens to read 2 lines of text is not my idea of a discussion forum.

Well maybe there`s too many 13yr olds on here. BTW the smilies here suck. And the frequency of errors due to using Microsh1t Active Sucker Pages makes me laugh. Oh well it`s an UBI forum.

AND WHOEVER INTRODUCED "-" AS THE QUOTED TEXT CHAR ?

Can somebody please explain to me the method used for posting pics/sig? I realise I first have to have the pic hosted but not sure of the code used and how to do it.

Thanks.

Hey, I don't like the high-speed internet snobbery going on around here. I don't give a crap about pictures in posts or scripts, but i don't think its really fair to say 56k'ers have no business playing this sim or visiting this forum.
