My apologies for posting these questions here, as they are already posted in the Community Help section, but I thought I would ask as this area seems to be more active:

I am hoping to have a few questions answered if anyone can spare the time and knowledge.

I am using a laptop with Windows 7, in case the operating system plays a factor.

1) Currently I am flying one of the game's campaigns (using version 4.09m) and wanted to know how to change the Pilot picture assigned to me?

2) I have an older joystick, the MS Sidewinder Precision 2, and lost the install cd. Although it is not needed for Windows 7 (as my machine recognized it right away), I tend to fly heavy handed and wanted to make the dead zone bigger so that it is not quite as sensitive? Is there a way to do this in Windows or do I need to find the MS Sidewinder Precision software?

3) On a similar note, I am trying to get use to the TrackIR once again (I purchased a TrackIR 4 from Natural Point) and I think I might need a slower profile than the default for flight sims. Something per chance that isn't quite as sensitive because I still act like a kid when I see the enemy and can't quite seem to sit still very long.

4) I have also noticed that when I fly through the clouds, at times there are strange anomolies that flash around the cockpit for a few seconds, like polygon figures in a white smoke possibly reprsenting the clouds themselves? Is there a way to fix this?

1- If you look in aircraft customizations you can change the pilot face. I am not sure if you can still change it once you start the campaign though.
2- You can change the deadzone within the sim by going to Hardware Setup > Input from the main screen and adjust for a particular axis... as in rudder , elevator etc..
3- It is best if you just experiment with the TIR software... so you can set up your own profile the way you want it. It may seem a bit intimidating at first but it is well worth taking the time to learn.
4- That is most likely a GPU issue or a settings issue.. especially since you are running it through a laptop.. but we'd need to know more about your system specs..

I need to per chance better explain some things.

1) For the Pilot image, I was referring to when you check the Pilot Roster in the in-game dynamic campaign, and select "Pilot Profile". I seem to remember there is a way to substitute that image, but I cannot find where it is located.

2) I looked at the hardware setup and found what you were referring to. There are these little colored squares, one green and one red, that seem to move somewhat out of sync (at least for me) when I move the joystick. Are they suppose to move together or do their paths always vary?

I copied somewhere online but am wondering that maybe those values need to be different.
Long story short, in that hardware section, how would I change the dead zone?
Is it done by changing the numbers that serve as input responses?

3) I will see what I can do concerning the TrackIR, though I am getting more use to the default profile. Years back, with the TrackIR 3, I remember that some folks posted their profiles which you could drag and drop into a folder and select them from the TrackIR menu, but I do not know if that is possible any more.

4) As for the graphic anomalies, as I do not have a GPU, what can I do to help you better see what the issue might be?
Would posting my conf.ini file be a start (maybe it has something to do with the anti-aliasing and all that stuff (sometimes technology loses me)? :confused:
