G6 MGs (13 mm) are still (much)weaker punchers than 12,7 mm from vvs planes....i heard about higher rate fire from vvs mgs....but, vvs 12,7 mm MGs are almost equal in punch effect like 20 mmm cannon from G2....

I've noticed they tend to do less structural damage but the thing with these MG's is not really damage...because when you really lay the hammer down with the 13mm German machine guns you can do alot of damage to the inner sections of a target aircraft (i.e. you won't blow a wing off but you will tear up controls). What makes them hard to aim is the slower muzzle rate and quicker dropoff.

Do a little research into the two types...I think you'll generally find that the Russian Berezin machine gun is superior to the competing machine guns in some categories.

Soviet guns/cannons were awesome in WWII. I had no idea until IL-2 came out and I did some research, what I found amazed me. If I was building the perfect fighter during WWII, it would have definitely had Soviet armament http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_cool.gif
