Me? my choices would be,
Hmmm, well with the Tirpitz coming a Lancaster with a tallboy would be sweet or even a bouncing Bomb, but of course we would need a dam for that http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif........... Or maybe a Swordfish http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif ahhh!!! the old stringbag, course that would require a carrier to go with it http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif
Or the Mosquito, would need the bouncing bomb for that too http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gifdrool....

As for American Stuff its gotta be a nice Liberator, the paintschemes i could conjure up for that are mind boggling, maybe a nice Corsair and Avenger to go along with those for pacific theaters, and course we'd need a carrier for those too http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Now German stuff, well we are getting the V1 are we getting its launchers ?, what about the flyable version? http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Ahhhhh, I can but dream of the likes of the Shorts Sunderland and Stirlings..........even the MB 5, now that would be a plane......

Hellcats. Dash 3s or 5s, it doesn't matter. I just want a Hellcat, because it's probably the only top of the line American fighter likely to have been more successful on the Eastern Front than the Airacobra, and it was much less tempramental.

Early Spitfire F.ix, LF.ix, and xiv. They were all quite popular in the RAF. Also a Vokes filter for the Mk.V.

Mosquito
Ju-188
bf-109F-6 & G-8 recon machines.
Fritz-X and Hs-293 guided bombs for the Do-217 and He-177.

What else? How about the rest of the RAF? Walruses, Sunderlands, Hudsons, etc... Oh, and the Royal Navy - all of it.

And just for fun, A Spit Mk.vii / Ju-86p match-up.

Flyable Pe-3, TU-2, IL-4, SB-5, B-17, B-24, A-20, Mosquito...along with completion of JU-88, Pe-2 and B-25. Bombers bring special flavor into the game like no others...making it meaningful IMO.

Kozhedub: In combat potential, the Yak-3, La-7 and La-9 fighters were indisputably superior to the Bf-109s and Fw-190s. But, as they say, no matter how good the violin may be, much depends on the violinist. I always felt respect for an enemy pilot whose plane I failed to down.

Without bombers and the brave peeps to fly them, there isn't really much of a point with online DF servers.

As we will be eventually getting the plane I've always wanted to fly, the Mk IX clipped, I'd have to say I'd like to see the B17 and Pe-8 flyable for bombers.

And would it be TOO much to ask for an LA9 with 4 - 23mm cannons in the nose and the ability to carry rockets and bombs?!?!

Pe-2/3, Mosquito, Bristol Beaufighter, IL-10, Hs-129, B-17/24/25/26, FW-200 Condor, flyable Ju-52 and DC-3 (with campaigns http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-wink.gif), Fairey Swordfish (with an Ark Royal!!), Japanese Betty, flyable Po-2/Rz-5/U2VS (with Night Witches campaign!!), Avro Lancaster, Short Sunderland, PBY.

This is my wish list. I know some of these are coming, and others are possible, but these are just what I would like to see.

And to the danish guy:

I fly bombers, and I would pick a bomber over a fighter any day (I even dog in bombers!!! http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/crazy.gif)

One thing that I owuld really like to see, however, is to have all the maps be connected so that you could fly from Moscow to LeHavre non-stop, or from Helsinki to Sevastopol. I don't know how much work is required to build maps, but damn, that would be cool!!! It would give bomber pilots a real purpose!!! They could take off from "Old Blighty" go bomb Berlin, and go home again, all on the one map!!! Navigation skills would be taxed to the maximum, engine management would be critical, and interceptions that much more dangerous!! Would make european scenarios amazing!!!!!

Only problem would be that you'd be in the air for a loooooong time, so online missions may not really be an option, but offline campaigns (a "Mighty Eighth" campaign, or Bomber Command campaign with Lancasters, Mosquitos, etc??) would certainly be possible if something were added to the game where you can accelerate the time, and the game would automatically decelerate to normal time when enemy aircraft were encountered, or a rendezvous point reached, as is done in Destroyer Command/Silent Hunter II.

the IL10 Sturmovik ........... (also has a chance!)

1) , B-17

or better yet . . .

2) , PE-8

sadly i doubt neither will ever come to FB (well the PE-8 sure wont)

& SlickStick the LA-9 would be too kik a$$

like if we recieved a Yak-3U ........... just too uber dominant

btw : the LA-9 was better at everything over the LA-7 : D

On June 23, 1942, Oberleutnant Arnim Faber erroneously landed his Focke-Wulf Fw 190A-3 fighter at RAF Pembrey, apparently having mistaken this airfield for a Luftwaffe channel coast airfield. The British were thereby presented with a working example of the Fw 190 fighter, which had been giving the RAF an extremely difficult time. The Hawker Fury design was a direct result of the examination of Faber's Fw 190A-3.

The later Dora's would be a good add-on. 760km/h at 12500m for the D-13. Awesome!

About the La-9, it was heavier than the La-7, with lower manouverability and climbrate. It was considerably faster at altitude, but that was about it. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-indifferent.gif

I always like wish lists! http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

What I'd like the most:
F2G-1, be sure

I'd like the foreign DB600-series fighters:
Mc.202
Ki-61
Ki-64
G.55
Mc.205
J21A

I like the early "outclassed" & export US fighters:
P-35
P-36
P-43

Because canards are cool:
J7W1
XP-55

More from the Pacific:
F7F
F9F
FD-1
P-61,

speaking of the P-61, how goes the turret arguments?
I found this chart (@ USAF Museum (http://www.wpafb.af.mil/museum/research/p61.htm)):

TYPE Number Remarks
XP-61 2 Prototype nightfighter
YP-61 13 Service test
P-61 80 Pwr turret S/N 42-5485 to 5522 only
P-61A 120 Imp. P-61; no top turret
P-61B 450 Imp. P-61A; drop tanks added
P-61C 41 Eng. chg.; top turret added
XP-61D 1(cv) Mod. P-61A w/ eng. chg.
XP-61E 1(cv) Mod. P-61B; new armament
XP-61F 1(cv) Mod. P-61C;

It would appear that the most numerous model didn't have the turret anyway. Does it simplify the modelling of internal stations significantly if the turret is revmoved?

It would appear that the most numerous model didn't have the turret anyway. Does it simplify the modelling of internal stations significantly if the turret is revmoved?

P-61 Me too! But whats the point without the turret? No turret?! Aaaaahhhhh!!! Thats like castrating the poor thing.

QUOTE]

The Spitfire you mention is the XIV or any of the models that came after it...Mk19, 21, 22, 24, or the Recon version of the XIV, the XIX. Some of the later models were fitted with a 6 bladed contra-rotating prop (2 three bladers spinning opposite ways) Helped reduce torque effects a lot.

The later marks were even faster than the already very fast XIV. The 22 and 24 were normally fitted with the juicy armament of 4 x MkV Hispano 20mm cannon.

But, I guess you are referring to the XIV.

You are correct about the Yugoslav plane. I think it had a Hispano Suiza V12 engine with spinner cannon and cowl mg armament a la Yak.

If I had all the money I'd spent on drink..I'd spend it on drink!

sorry but its totally the other way round concerning weight

LA-9 was lighter than the LA-7

LA-9 was all smooth .... had laminar wings .... it didnt have as nice stall character as the LA-7

was a lot faster at all ALT over the LA-7 & had faster climb

Fokker D.XXI. And generally more planes that were actually used on real forgotten battles, not only those fantasy planes for history revisionists. Of course they may be seen as results of the forgotten battle of airplane designers but still. IL-2 was after all about eastern front that claimed to be historically correct...

This is still supposed to be the "eastern", not the "far-eastern" front so I'd have to place emphasis on planes seen in that theater. Not saying that some US/Japanese "crap" planes wouldn't be nice... ;-)

Top 5

1. Ju-88
2. Pe-2
3. Morane-Saulniers (406, 410 and/or M¶rk¶-Morane)
4. Curtiss Hawk
5. Something italian (MC202 or Reggiane 2000)

Of course more flyable bombers / jabos would be nice, such as Blenheims or Hs-129's. Aside from planes, some kind of Mediterranean map would go well with the new planes(Palm trees at Maleme airfield, hmm...).

The Fokker DXXI was used by the Dutch AF in may 1940 and in the pacific, above all by the Finnish AF in a lot of FB!
As you can imagine, I would love to fly a Fokker G1 in FB.

Hawker Fury/Sea Fury
DH Mosquito

I don't know if the Fury/Sea Fury ever was involved in combat in WW2, certainly it first flew in 1944, but did not enter full production untill later. Given that it was a smaller version of the tempest/typhoon, and was rapid in the extreme it should rock the world! Looks tough also!
