Is it possible to have the He-111 carry the V-1 and drop them? The 111'a were actually capable of this and several KG's did perform this duty. (KG53 IIRC)

It would be a cool feature in FB:Aces

(note: I originally typed V-2, my bad, I knew it was a V-1 they carried)

Don't you mean V-1s? There was no need to launch V-2s from an aircraft as they climbed to high for any propellor aircraft, had plenty of fuel for any trip and where just slightly smaller then a He-11 and way to heavy to lift into the air,and i don't know about V-1s,but a He-111 could carry a remote controlled torpedo.

Yep, KG53 deployed a modified He 111H-22 to air launch Fi-103's (V-1) against targets in London, Southhampton and Gloucester in the second half of 1944. Apparently the first H-22's used for these missions were refitted H-6, H-16 and H-21 types.

They used to fly in low to avoid radar detection, briefly gaining altitude to launch their weapon, before driving back down and returning to base.

I think this would be a neat addition to FB, firstly for interesting intercept missions you could set up and secondly for a more a later version of the He 111. Hmmm...... that means doing at least the model and AI for a new plane http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

"As weaponry, both were good, but in far different ways from each other. In a nutshell, I describe it this way: if the FW 190 was a sabre, the 109 was a florett, or foil, like that used in the precision art of fencing." - Gunther Rall
