I have a problem restarting the HE- 111. When I shut it down in mid air, I cant restart it, even if I land on the ground. Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong? Thanks

Mudmovers have a good article on flying the He. I haven't flown it myself, but some aircraft have this feature if ground crew were required to start the engine, such as the I16.

You can restart the 111 in midair, how you do it depends on your difficulty settings. If you've switched on 'seperate engine start' then you need to map the engine control keys (mine are set to ctrl+ 1,2,3,4 respectively) they aren't set by default, simply pressing the I key to restart your engines will not work unless 'seperate engine start' is switched off.
Hope this helps.

Yep, exactly as DeerHunter said...you can't restart if multiple engines are selected...you have to select the engine individually to restart it... I need to add that to my ops guide for the Heinkel...

I know I have to select the engines seperatly. But when I select engine 1 and try to restart it, it doesnt react at all. I've tried all kinds of mixtures, and my magnetos are both on.
But when I am still on the landing strip for liftoff, I can start and restart. Strange isn't it? maybe ALgroover is right. If anybody knows how to solve my prob.....please help!
By the way, thnx 4 responding guys

I never had the problem (and I'm a dedicated He-111 pilot online), and can't quite understand why you have it. Why would you shut down an engine mid-flight anyway?

I just tried it and had no toruble stopping and starting either engine while in flight... I'd need to know more specifically what you are doing to diagnose...
