Hello and welcome to the Forums :D
Please try running the DirectX Installer that came with the game. Let us know if that helps.

Thanks ;)

Tried it, no improvement, still the same error message.

I have reinstalled multiple times, made sure all of my drivers are up to date and am not pulling the game from a secondary drive and nothing seems to be fixing the error.

any other thoughts?

A file is probably missing from the DVD, because it says an extension to the app was missing. Unless you download the file and put it in the right place this will continue.

Any idea for 1) where I can download the dll file and 2) where I need to put it once I have it so that I can actually start playing :(

Ok well I fixed the missing dll, however now the new error code is:

The procedure entry point CreateDXGIFactory1 could not be located in the dynamic link library dxgi.dll

sigh...so many bugs...I just want to play the game...:(

It should have came in the box, if you've got a used copy then this will already be redemed.

Right, using my knowledge, you've got a fault with your AC3 Singleplayer master executor (the main file), which caused the app to crash. The next fault is that an application extension has had a fault creating a DXGIFFactory (dunno what that is). The last 4 pieces of info you can use to search for a solution. I haven't given you a solution, just an explanation of what it means.
Hope this helps, despite I'm a PS3 player, please don't ignore my advice.

Ok well I fixed the missing dll, (

Can you please tell us how you fixed the missing d3dll.dll error? I am having the exact same problem here also, and a step-by-step fix would be greatly appreciated. Thanks a million!
