It would be nice if the next AC put different types of spears / halberds to buy.

Personally I think it is always nice to put the same kind of weapons (swords, daggers and maces). There are all kinds of interesting weapons, depending on the context.

Maces aren't realy assassin-ish, but Axes and bombs neither

It is not the weapons, nor the tools, that defines what is an assassin. Assassins are defined by their techniques and by their tactics.

Despite the fact that, I also wish to see these in the new game...the devs are not likely to include them because of the time-era will make them almost obsolete...

Depends of the era.

The indians in Braazil use spears a lot. Just saying...

The assassin recruit of Ezio's time do indeed use them no? So I don't see there being a non-assassinish problem, i see a bigger tie period problem.

I find it rather odd that Ubisoft can animate spear-wielding characters in their multiplayer, and then somehow make the excuse that it can't be incorporated into the single-player since it's "trickier for the Assassin to free-run."

As random as this may sound..I would love to see dual crossbows... <_<
Really liked the rope dart and hope it's expanded upon in the future.

Katanas and Shurikens and Kunais and Naginatas. Because the next game should be in Japan.

How would you do forward rolls. How would you store them?

Oh I dunno, just like we roll with a crossbow on our back, or just like we freerun wearing elephant armour and carrying a 30kg heavy weapon...
Just like the spear is stored in multiplayer?

Good point, haven't thought of that. Forward roll could get very problematic. Tbh in AC3 I stay away from all big weapons. Whenever I accidently pick up a sword I go to the nearest shop, equip an axe and bury it in some guards head lol. I don't like the hero carrying a lot of junk. For the same reason I never bought the crossbow in Revelations. So yeah I guess what I'm trying to say is that I don't really want spears. But I do want Brazil!!!

What about braces on your hand that shoot darts. They could shoot sharp lethals or poison darts, that would be pretty cool.

me too but the crosbow is more stealthy than the long bow and that's why i'm missing it A crossbow makes more noise than a long bow when being fired, so I don't know what you are talking about.

Katanas and Shurikens and Kunais and Naginatas. Because the next game should be in Japan. Very VERY much disagree with you. It would be a cool side one off title, but the only assassin's creed game for 2 years? No.

Vigoorian Flails?:D

Anyway, I think at this point the series already incorporates a ot of weapons that aren't strictly Assassin-style and even though I'm a big "more social stealth etc." advocate, I wouldn't really discourage that. Having those unusual weapon choices around can give you some very interesting results for when you do choose to expose yourself, if only temporarily. For all that I didn't like about Brotherhood, I never did get tired of throwing the Spadone at at someone.

The question is, do they want to go toward having tons of different legitimate weapons around, or do they go more toward the Dead Rising/improvisationist side where you're using commonplace objects creatively? (Though obviously the AC version of this would be more realistic and less hilarious, but still, a few more comical options might not be out of place so long as they aren't too cartoony.)

Japan has all the best weapons. It has a great historical period too, plus great architecture, and people.

I don't want to sound racist because I'm not but.. I honestly don't want to listen to Japanese people talking and speaking Japanese. (No offense to anyone who is japanese). I feel like that kind of thing is too mainstream anyways. All the ACs have been things that haven't really been done by anyone else.

We havent had many games set it 16th-19th century Japan. Modern day Japan yes, but not feudal era. And they wont be talking Japanese, just Japanese accents.
