Need to exploit range differences of aircraft but fast load for computer.

Large dogfight maps 600km x 600km. Pure flat ground--no hills.

Just a few airfields...say 10 airfields.

No buildings, no roads, no water.

Just some variable Forest texture patterns that we can use to visually navigate with.

Some spots can have No Forest--flat land 100km wide one can get lost over. Some spots can have small Forest patches, some spots can have much larger Forest sheets. Just this can make the map look very different over different parts of the map and can help navigation.

That's all...just Forest texture and open flat ground. This is simple for Map Makers to create, fast to load with no Building Objects. Winter version too. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

thanks!!

If roads are included in the texture, go ahead and add them.

I'd love a big giant map for campaign use that hasn't the performance penalty of buildings.

Good recomendation.

why not sea map with islands of different shapes in the map? it helps more to get better frames per sec when playing.
at least i hate to play when there is city next to you, it makes fps go down now and that way aimin suffers alot. and against sea its easier to see planes. one thing too what oleg needs to do is make planes more visible, like spitfire and La:s at least, they disappear against ground, spit even against air :/ wonder why spit looks smaller than 109 from distance..

Need pure flat land map, with just large and small Forest textures for visual navigation.

NO BUILDINGS, no cities, no rivers, no roads, no hills.

600km x 600km or larger.

Sea maps coming in FP http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

The planes have camouflage to intentionally make them "disappear" against the ground.

Have you trimmed (calibrated) your monitor ?

http://premium.uploadit.org/pingu666/waterlib.jpg
pic taken in italy i finks.
how cool would it be to have that in fb? i think its possible http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-happy.gif
for a proper airbase with that, u need 2 airfields, one slighty higher with no water, and the 2nd lower and submerged by a little, for landings http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-surprised.gif http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/11.gif

a big map would be cool http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Pingu, I think roads are part of the texture, so adding them will not increase the size of the map at all.

Plus they make it a bit easier to navigate as well as explain how tanks/trucks got to point X http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Well, how about having 'cut down' pieces of maps that we already have?

The Gulf of Finland is HUGE and could be broken into a number of dogfight maps without any design effort.

Maybe Kursk too.

Worst case, Oleg would have to add some airfields where before there were none. Easy

We already have dozens of 50km dogfighter maps that use 10% fuel load.

Need 600km x 600km dogfight map with no Building Objects, no anything but variable size
Forest sheets for visual navigation.
