I was exploring the underground tunnels in Boston earlier, and came across some symbols, and puzzles. In to solve the puzzles, you have to read some text, that appear to be rules of some kind, belonging to the Free-Mason lodge. Here are some pics, from this symbols (they show you the way you have to go in order to find an exit of the tunnel). Considering any conspiracy theories about assassins and free-masons?

Ahh didn't remember about it... Though the puzzles and the symbols, may rise a few new theories, or strengthen some already existed...

Freemasonry derives from the Order of the Knights Templar.

Freemasonry derives from the Order of the Knights Templar. They took an apple of Eden to the new world plus they were the leaders of the revolution

Yeah, Freemasonry is dead in this game. Quite a shame considering their connections at the time. I always expected some kind of connection between masonry and the assassin/templar plots. SkiesSeven is right when they say it derives from the Knights Templar. And considering the only way to Join the Modern day Templar order is through Freemasonry, you would see a bit more of a connection. But being a mason, I was sorely disappointed in its place in this game...but oh well i guess. No plot conspiracy theory though, personally hate those.

After reading a lot, I still can't see how the freemasons dervie from the order of the knights templar. However how can you say that they were the ones that brought an apple of eden in the new world? This fact can only be proved in the dlc as I see mr general holds one...

It's written in code in Glyph #3: "The Masons brought it across the sea. George Washington passed it on."

Also, it was never said in AC lore that the Freemasons are connected to the Templars; after all, Houdini was a Mason or associated with them, and he was killed by the Templars; and I read somewhere that Freemasons were persecuted during World War II, which was all a big Tempar plot - I doubt the Templars would have allowed their own persecution.

But I too expected more of the Freemasons in AC3 - though I figure that was mainly due to one particular GameInformer article quoting Corey May on the Masons.
