Haven't seen it done yet. Pretty sure the change is permanent. You can replay the forts though through the memory menu though.

Nope , once the stars & stripes are flying - they stay under patriot control (for obvious reasons)

& they were under British control not Templar. :)

Actually, when you go over on the map before you liberate it, it says "Fort (Templars)".

Well Bluecoats can still be hostile so there's a challenge still if that's what you're looking for...

That was because shaun and rebbeca thought haytham was an assassin before sequence 3

And connor believes the Templars are helping the british - So everything british is a potential Templar target or stronghold as far as connor knows at the time .
But that's not the case in reality.

But that's not the case in reality.
Connor kills the same amount of bluecoats as he does lobsterbacks, and thier are templars in the assassin order, so it's not exclusive to the brits, as well as this the forts could be under the control of pitcairn or lee or some other templar
