It was much easier to gather data on the surface from the bridge, then when submerged through the periscope.

Will this be modeled? Can this be modeled graphically, or would it only be in the torpedo code?

Hi...Heibges.....

I soupose, attacks on surface with torps or deckgun must to be posible, but only at the early times of the war.........

Against non escorted merchants, and non armored merchants.........

If not, you will blast of the sea.......

Plus...... I soupose it will depend of the merchants AI, this must to be posible if you are not visualy detected, by fog, or night coverage....... if not, the merchants must to start up evasive manuevers whichs will ruins your torpedo fire solution.......

Of course, in this situation you may to use LUT/FAT torpedoes............

I wait for deckgun and torp attacks too.........

HeibgesU999,
Surface torpedo attacks were not performed during the day as it is hard enough to hit an unsuspecting target let alone one that is zig zagging and upping and downing their speed.

There was also the issue that if a merchant ship saw you he would radically change course so that you had to chase him.

A surface daylight attack also had the problem of your location being broadcast to the world.

Hopefully SHIII will emulate these actions in a ongoing way, not just a brief course chnage every now and then as in SHII. Hopefull, the merchant ship that runs away from you also doesn't come straight back later.

Cheers,

Teddy B¤r

i was just saying that was much easier to gather target data from the bridge, than through the persicope.

much was compiled during the overhaul manuever afterall.
