Too bad all....i've bought it.. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/784.gif http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/mockface.gif http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/35.gif http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

Paintjob looks awful, but with a bit of DIY-Home-photoshopping and printing some decals that P51 will get a new look soon.. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/35.gif

Ow man..i've always wanted an authentic warbird... http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-sad.gif
Are there still any P-47D (20-25's) or P38J's on scrapyards? I wonder what it would cost to get such a bird from scrap fully restored...

....Dreams..... http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-happy.gif...

I think I got one of those in the back of my garage collecting dust. I'll just go and check.

Well that was a bit disappointing. All I could find was an old FW190.
Can't think for the life of me what i've done with that Mustang.

It's OK! Found it. It was round the back of the house next to the Lanc & Spit. Got a bit worried then. Pheeww!

That is my least favorite Mustang paint scheme. Historically correct, but my least favorite.

That's a lot of warbird for 1.5 million. The gun cams and the K-14 work....hmmm...that would be some interesting film

Der Tote Baron, the May/June edition of Warbirds International has an article on three razorback P-47D's dug up in New Guinea, at least one of which is being restored. They were abandoned in place at the end of the war, "de-milled" by lopping off the left wing outboard of the gear, and pushed into pits by bulldozers and buryed. The article talks about the bulldozer damage as being easy to fix, but it sounds like a used car dealer saying "that'll buff right out." No price mentioned, but I expect seven figures.

They also mentioned additional airframes still in New Guinea, but the govenment is being greedy and uncooperative. No specific mention of -38's, but you might be able to find a project airframe. You just gotta dig real quietly.
