ive been seeing plastic models of the b24 and every 3d model ive seen screws up the cockpit canopy pretty bad.

this one has it pretty close and the proportions are quite good. does the pacific add on need a b24?

We badly need a Lib; it was the workhorse heavy of the PTO.

You're right! And in the Aleutians. And out of North Africa and Italy. We could use this a/c in all of the theaters, assuming it's compatible with FB/AEP. Even AI, it would great to escort it.

Fester, it looks like a good start. Good luck!

well I have two problems i need resolving

I have my own licensed copy of 3dsmax6 only. I am told i can export the liberator file to 3ds format to make it usable by 3dsmax5.1 and thus IL2FB and pacific. if this is true i will proceed to make the liberator conform to IL2 modelling standards.

second I need someone to confirm for me that they need this model B-24D for pacific fighters or FB. this is the most accurate 3d model ive seen of the b24 in regards to the greenhouse nose and the confusing cockpit greenhouse canopy that no one can ever get nailed down right. the cockpit canopy of the B-24 has been confusing designers and plan makers since the first models of it were built. its that deceptively confusing. the way the side windows droop lower than the front and the way everything is oddly shaped. its hard to replicate but this model is darned close.

regardless I will continue building the model for my own enjoyment even if it isnt going to be used.

but if it can be used then IL2 pacific fighters will have the most accurate B-24 liberator mmodel ever made. I guarantee this.

Wait, I don't understand, who told you to build a B-24?

Fester, thank you very much, but we already have a B-24 all done for PF. Also, models built in MAX 6 cannot be used in the game engine. It's max 5.1 or below.

Please oh Please Luthier tell me it's going to be flyable.
There were 3 guys doing one a few months back but nothing has been heard from them.
Lots of PPL. Including my self did a lot of research for that prodgect. Thunderbolt56 even went to a real Libby & got TONS of pictures. I think i still have some of those. I also still have the HUGE Zipfile with all my resaech stuff in it if it's needed.

thanks luthier

i am building the b24 for my own amusement and wanted to see if its usable for the pacific add on.

can you make sure that the model your using has accurate cockpit canopy? no one has modelled it correctly yet and would like to see it done justice.

I donâ´t understand whatâ´s the problem with B24 canopy... Why shouldnâ´t it be modeled ok?

Fester_of_AH

because most plan drawings of it are actually incorrect. so you have to go by photoreference to get the canopy to look right and its a very odd geometric shape.

That looks really good. You really seem to know what you're doing.

But why not model a plane that will get in PF? Maybe some obscure crap plane like a really slow bomber, or a rocket plane.

i will indeed work on more aircraft but i dont see any reason to stop working on this plane even if its not gonna be used.

i'm a rookie and need the practice.
