Frames Per Second. For most games 30FPS is acceptable (IE what AC should run at. But other games like First Person Shooters preferably run at 60FPS (Like Call of Duty does).

That does not make it any easier for him xD

He wants to know what it MEANS.. i.e Definition.

I`ll do it then :P Did not want to seem intrusive, but as long as you`re Okay with it..

Video is captured and played back as a sequence of static images, each image being one "frame." The frame rate is the number of these frames per second. For example, movie film is shot at 24 frames per second, while NTSC video is shot at 29.97 interlaced fps, and high-definition video at 30 and 60 fps.

framerate is the number of frames your GPU renders per second. Think of it this way: When the framerate is zero, you'd see a static picture. No movement. And when the framerate is high enough, you'd see a fluid movielike experience. The lower the framerate, the choppier the action looks. It would look as if you're looking through a slideshow.

So, as you guessed, higher framerates are better. generally, 30 fps is the limit you wouldn't want your framerate to drop below. Since the human eye can't perceive framerates above 60 fps, 60 is the optimal framerate. Though shooter players like CoD4 players, prefer framerates as high as 250 because it helps them maneuver better.. or something. lol.

EDIT: Ninja'd be M.. :(
