I loved the naval gameplay.

I was not expecting it to be that good but when I played the mission with the big naval battle in the main storyline my heart was racing.

I loved everything about it and I WANT MORE.

Ubisoft should so make a naval MMOG.

I think it would be epic.

Who's with me lol?

Naval game, with MMOG Options... I like playing without having to worry about other people ganking me, sometimes (most of the time)

Still, could be fun, form up a badass fleet with your friends, and take to the waves!

I'd suggest expanding it beyond naval battle - naval trade, economy, ect... like Eve Online, but on water?

They should make Naval free roam and let users visit deserted islands

Yeah if they were to do it online they would need to have something like you have a ship then you are placed in a group then have battles against another group (something like 20 v 20) and if you lose you would just have to pay for repairs (if they ever did this I would hope you could continually do repairs without actually paying real money and real money is used to buy big upgrades rather than forcing people to pay in effect to play). Then there could be some other option where you ride the high seas and have the option to challenge random nearby ships - with the option of other ships randomly joining in.

I don't know what Eve is - i loved the naval battles so much that I don't think they would need to expand it beyond battles but if they wanted to I am sure they could easily add on stuff to expand it.

No.. No real money meddling in game economy. X_x god no.

But yeah, naval battles are fun, but I do feel that if it were to be its' own game, it would need to be expanded and made more robust and flexible, allowing for many more options -I'd even support the idea of a less robust 'boarding' combat arrangement in favor of a more refined and dedicated naval setup.

I just hated the fact that most of the Naval Missions took 40 seconds to complete. Almost a waste of time if you ask me.

Have you completed the game? The mission I am talking about had quite a substantial naval fight.

This is the part I can say I enjoyed once I got to shoot off the cannons I was hoked! At first I really liked just driving the darn thing I was like, " I'm driving a boat!" which was cool then we got cannons! Though it may sound very cheesy there its not all about the cannons and the driving.

I liked the fact I could control all the elements from driving to shooting. I felt the representation of the line of fire was done well I could time my shots.

I liked the ability to have new ammo and see how it did or didn't preform.

The steering of the ship in general worked well I didn't feel like it was too slow after I got the rudder upgrade I felt it was quite responsive.

Controlling the sail strength was good

I loved the weather missions it made me feel like yes I was on the open seas when you're fighting just to stay float in the mile high waves.

Some suggestions though:

The missions should've been encounter missions they should've made the sea a sand box after you select your destination or at least give you the options heres an example:
I want to sail to Jamaica so I go to my map and select it then I get a menu that says fast travel or travel yourself I pick the latter so now I get to sandbox on the open ocean if I steer my shep in a Northerly manner and do nothing but that I'll be to Jamaica in about 10minets if I don't however and I go west (for this example) I'll eventually run into ships that are either just passing along, are pirates, or are pirates harassing vessels. The weather will change when I pick countries or states of long distances so I will run into storms some light with little chop or heavy with lots of chop.

During storms the ship if sailed wrong should be able to capsize.

You should be able to add lots of cannons and if your cannons exceed the ship's ability to carry them you can buy a whole new ship!

More armor types for the ship and the ability to paint it (yes I said paint) I would like the color spectrum so if I want a hotpink ship with black decking, golden wood trim accents, a pink mas, and black sail that's MY SHIP and I can repaint it at anytime with no cost associated with it.

The prices were too high to buy things! I was poor the whole game because of it! I've got the men at my house the cost shouldn't be that high. I can understand cost changing like if I buy specialty items for the ship that can only be obtained in that country like say Jamaica gives me diamond armor or something and Phili gives me flying drones that bomb ships from the air that I launch out during the battles.

More places to go I should be able to sail around the world imagine sailing through an area in China that has the knife edge mountains.

More islands to goto and explore maybe even have your ship attacked by the residents and if you fail you get captured and have to escape if you win you raid their base.

More missions to help fellow navy forces I liked being in the navy battles.

Escort missions that have more allies helping it was a bit ridiculous to have only me watch a 12 ship unit.

The ability to have co-op local for navy missions I want to team up with my friends and we both do mission with our ships they can drop in and out of the area at anytime.

More treasure to find.

Allow me to be a pirate if I so choose I could if I wanted fight off all the pirates on that one ship only to use my chains on it, board it, and then rob it myself! Waha!

Also for storms you need harder wind gusts to make if more like you are in a storm.

They'll probably improve it in the next installment. It was definitely a very strong aspect of the game. I just hope they include free-roam.

Yeah, some contracts are good, there is one where it is timed which is better and more intense. A good majority of the missions are "Kill these 6 boats" which I can do in around a minute.

I think that the naval gameplay as a seperate free MMO game would be epic and I think that they already did such a good job with the naval play in AC3 that within itself they could easily make an online game out of it. It could be something like World of Tanks but much much better.

I hope they do but I doubt they will.

They should have had more missions where you were required to board the enemy. And yeah, longer naval missions in general.

MMO?? Yuck. No thanks.

Personally I'd like to see Free Roam and the ability to plot a course across the eastern seaboard of the US in a manner similar to the map-based navigation in the Silent Hunter games. The ability to compress time via the map screen would be a must, with time compression switching itself off when visual contact was made with other shipping.

It would be easy enough to create a basic mission generator. I would like to see random missions such as combat sweeps, escort, land bombardment and point defence missions, with some financial payoff for each successful mission. The occasional juicy merchant target would also be most welcome - bonus points if some merchantmen are slavers.

Of course it'd be fun to have more story missions (I loved the one late in the main AC3 story) but for the sake of replay value .. random missions and free-roam too, please.

Personally I would have no interest in a multiplayer element to the Naval gameplay unless it was entirely optional.

*edit* I'd like to be able to escort my own merchant convoys too.

Would you not love battling 20 other ships with a team with a real fight back? I think missions and just travelling would get boring after a while - just waiting for something to happen.

naval multiplayer or even a co op would be so much awesome.. :)) naval battles in AC3 are so potencial and yet sooo underutilized.. and just few more missions would not help ;)

Styler99: BIG LIKE! I agree with that all ;)
