I noticed this right away on the backs of 2 soldier types are the numbers 19 and 42. Anyone else suspect the next game involves WWII. A lot of ACB The Truth had references to WWII period as well.

I guess we could assassinate Hitler... since his "suicide" was under a lot of speculation...

But nahhh. More fun to go further back :D

Would rather a setting that hasn't been done to death.

Haven't they already said that AC4 would DEFINATELY not be set during WW2 or Feudal Japan because it's considered 'boring'?

I personally agree with them to be honest, the one glimpse of that WW2 memory in Legacy was fun, but I'd rather we don't have the setting of a main game be one that has been DONE TO DEATH.

... On the bright side, if Ubisoft ever did WW2 and Feudal Japan, at least they would've done it right.

Okay fine perhaps im wrong but then what other significances would the number 19 and 42 have and why did cutscenes seem to go out of their way to show me these numbers on their backs or am i just reading too much into it and has the animus began to corrupt my mind.

Don't get me started with numbers in this game, prior to the release I was literally seeing the number 72 plastered everywhere, I was genuinely starting to get freaked out :p
Didn't Hutchinson mention India though?

well the number 42 comes from hitchikers guide to the galaxy (its the meaning of life) so maybe the next game will take place in space

At the end of the second epilogue on evacuation day, it shows him curiously looking at what looked to be a slave auction. Maybe it's civil war era.

or maybe its the fact the 19th regiment of foot and the 42nd regiment of foot are two regiments of the british army at this time

The only positive thing I could see about WW2 is that, Ubisoft would make any other WW2 look lame. The only problem is the gun problem. AC3 only works because the guns are inaccurate and they only get one shot. I just don't see this setting working.

They would have to redo so much for this to happen and it wouldn't really be an Assassin's Creed game. Plus World War II was in so many places it would be almost impossible to make an open world game for WW2 unless you just did one or two cities which then you couldn't capture everything about WW2. Victorian England or possibly the American Civil War would be as far as it should ever go in terms of history in order to keep the elements of assassin's creed true to its formula.

I am really leaning towards civil war because what he looks at at the end of the epilogue evacuation day

Yeah, and they already have the mechanics with the muskets and that style fighting so it could work. Question is what cities would actually be in the game during the civil war since it was all over the United States that existed at the time. Would be pretty cool to see Atlanta and then watch it get destroyed by Sherman and his troops.

That depends, what time period of India are we talking about? Also, if we go to England, VICTORIA ERA PLEASE~! :o

They've also said Imperial China, about the same time period that Shao Jun would've been around, that too~

Though, with what has been revealed about Eve and Aveline, we may have a main game focused around Aveline instead, so back to America I suppose.

I think that they should continue with Connor the same as they did with ezio in ACB and ACR but what if Ac4 won't be a sequel moving forward but a prequel moving back?

LilyasAvalon

That depends, do you mean going back in terms of the memories or back in terms of the modern world?

They've already said there's a possibility AC4 would be set before AC3.

Yeah I mean going back in time but making it a prequel before the story of Desmond. Reliving the memories of some other subject
And going into the roman period or before the setting of ac1

Or.. you can have a protagonist after Desmond, and go back to a time period before Altair/Ezio/Connor's time.. Know what I mean? :P

I don't like prequels but I do think we will get a sequel with Connor. Now that Connor's lost everyone he holds dear in America, I honestly think he will go to France during the French Revolution. The game even hints at this with the conversations with Lafayette at Valley Forge about visiting France. Connor can assist in the revolution there and we will get to encounter Reginald Birch, the grand master of England's Templars.
