Where to start?

Well I think we got our wires crossed as a result of my poor wording in that last thread fiasco. Seams this was the result of a technical glitch and not the result of someone changing your server settings via the console or voting etc. I don't believe this is even possible to do but I am not fully familiar with what can be done client side from the console, server permitting.

After reading your intended settings for the War Clouds Real server I see that you are sincere in your effort to provide a high difficulty server for realism fans to enjoy. Your server looks like a good setup. Apparently you have found and solved the glitch.

I guess I am a bit touchy these days as I mostly play on high difficulty servers and am tired of the players that just show up on these servers to disrupt the game. This is partially what I was trying to convey. I was playing on greatergreen the other night and a couple jokers were persisting in their political debate while we were trying to just have a good time.

My apologies if I created a problem here. Sorry about the confusion.

Best regards,
SodBuster43

You know, it takes a man of character to apologize on a public forum. Most people seem to come in here and rant and rave as though the forum exists for their personal amusement without regard for everyone else who comes here. It's VERY nice to see someone who can step up and admit they are wrong or that they acted in haste and because you have done just that, you have gotten a big point of respect in my book.

Salute to you SodBuster, I commend you for making this apology. If more people could do the same as appropriate, I think the community would be well served, and by doing this you are setting a good example.

Well, as far as my hosting career goes I think I will hang it up until the day comes that I have an extra hosting PC or maybe three like SPaRX.

Yes, it does take some time, money and resources to do this stuff for sure. I myself had to cut back on the internet connection speed to save a few bucks. I do miss my 1.54mb cable connection though http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-sad.gif The household is back to the 256k cable connection. This is not ideal for hosting either.

And yes I am a man and fully capable of human mistakes and sometimes I'm even a character http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

S~ Sodbuster.

I too am sorry for going on the attack so quickly. I should have checked into what was happening before i went ballistic. I think i too am like yourself, with all the Napalm being dropped on people around here, its was just easier to attack back.

I do hope to see you on the Real server though. I enjoy this server very much and always enjoy having someone to fly against. To my amazement, when i woke up today, there are 16 players on the server. Very nice indeed.

Again bud.. i give ya a BIG O' S~~

SPaRX

F.Y.I. : those three servers are running on the same PC. With dedicated servers, a good connection, and a little bit of windows tweaking you can do alot. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

P.S. Cudos and S~ for you editing and revising the old thread. You are a very outstanding individual. I only wish everyone on these forums conducted themsevles in this manner http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Kozhedub: In combat potential, the Yak-3, La-7 and La-9 fighters were indisputably superior to the Bf-109s and Fw-190s. But, as they say, no matter how good the violin may be, much depends on the violinist. I always felt respect for an enemy pilot whose plane I failed to down.
