I've noticed that during the day, Boston can drop my framerate pretty low, I would guess around 23 when I have to run the rooftops to escape from the roof guards. At night, this doesn't happen. It's smooth and unwavering. Doesn't happen in the Frontier either. Maybe something wrong with the shadows being drawn or perhaps the sky?

The pop-in also seems to be quite frequent. I've noticed that certain things like character models and trees have different LOD transitions, but a lot of objects and sometimes terrain can instantly appear or change and it's very distracting.

When I don't notice these things the game is an absolute joy. That being said, having everything else so polished makes these things sort of glaringly annoying, especially the frame rate, which sometimes makes chases feel slightly more sluggish than they should be.

Would really like to think this is fixable and not just a limitation of hardware that I have to live with. Please respond.

Haha, please respond.

I am on PS3 and honestly I have never had any significant frame rate drops, in fact it looks to me like the game is running 30fps 95% of the time, only dropping maybe 5 frames in the most intense scenes. It runs even smoother than Brotherhood which was the best so far for me.

That being said, I almost wiped my PS3 clean to try to maximise performance as much as possible, the only games I have installed at the moment are AC3 and FiFa12 (I didn't delete it because it's my brothers, not mine, but of course the save files are deleted seperately so I will delete it tonight when I get back from work)

Anyway 23 fps doesn't sound too bad? I'm sure Revelations would get under 20 sometimes. But consider trying to delete some unused game install files, they can be quite big (GT5 is 8gb) so that might slow the console down a bit in the same way as a computer gets choked up with too much stuff. Also consider restoring your file system and rebuilding your database, there is ongoing debate as to whether this actually increases performance but I did it regardless and my game experience has been optimal thus far.
