Apparently AC3 will have around 2 1/2 hours (Atleast I think so) of Cutscenes in the game. This is definitely good, but AC2 had over 3 hours of cutscenes. You also have to keep in mind Desmond / Modern era will have more cutscenes this time around as well, taking up more of the 2 1/2 hours that will be in AC3.

Does this disappoint anyone that there won't be as much cutscene time in AC3 as in AC2? It thought the cutscenes in AC2 made the game's story really come out a lot better.

It doesn't disappoint me at all. The length of each cutscene is really what matters, but it still really doesn't affect the quality of the game. It is a game after all, I want to play as much of it as possible. As long as the cutscenes do what they're supposed to, I'm fine with it.

EDIT: Over 3 hours seems a little long for AC2 now that I'm thinking about it.

It's then revelation as well. It's the same as brotherhood.

Yes AC2 had over 3 hours. Might even be close to 3 1/2. But the point is, I really enjoyed watching each cutscene. If each cutscene can be enjoyable to watch, then more of them, and longer cutscenes can't hurt.

I don't think AC2 had that many cutscenes.

AC2 definitely had at the very least 3 hours of cutscenes.

Ah, never mind.. I found proof: http://www.playstationlifestyle.net/2011/09/16/assassins-creed-revelations-cutscene-length-revealed/

But at the same time, I don't know why I'm complaining.. I felt like AC2 was overbloated in how many events they included, with not enough detail.

Hopefuilly the cutscenes of AC3 have more detail on the characters and the interaction and such.

2.5 hours of cinematics.....is this cutscenes + CGI or only CGI. cutscenes. I've asked about this but can't seem to get a comprehensive answer.

I enjoy the cutscenes a lot because they make it feel like more than a game. AC has always done a good job using them to connect missions together. I think the fact that you hear Alex talking about the amount of cut scenes is a good sign that they understand the value they add to AC and will do a good job with them.

I really doubt there's 2.5 hours of CGI. Not only is that expensive and space-consuming, but imagine not playing the game for TWO and a half hours. That's ridiculous.

You wont get one..

AC II has exactly 250 minutes of Cutscenes (Minus DLC)

EDIT: scratch that.. Its 206 Minutes xD

i guess you are right but imagine the cutscenes have the same quality and length as MGS4. At least having the same graphical levels as MGS4 would be an amazing accomplishment. Well maybe less than MGS4 but still, I hope for the best.

The cutscenes for AC have never been CGI except for ACR Multiplayer, so I don't think they'll start with AC3.

Multiply the rumoured cutscene length of AC3 by 4 and you get MGS4's cutscene length.

They generally don't use pre-rendered CG for cutscenes in AC games. It's purely in-engine.
