Francois Pellard (or whatever his name was)- "The way we organised the ramp up of ACIII is to have most of the core team from ACII to jump into ACIII and at that time it was just the start of AC Brotherhood."

Hutchinson - "At that stage there was about 11 or 12 of us, the first sort of six months were under 30 people"

Thanks guys ;)

Does Hutchinson say they were only 30 people working on AC3 at the beginning ?

PS: Nice French :p

Yeah during inception, when they were deciding where to set the game, and things like that, not many people required for that.

"The American revolution, a lot of the ideas and themes behind it dovetail(fit) really nicely with the themes behind the templar-assassin conflict. We've had this you know millenia old struggle of you know freewill vs oppression, the idea that the templars want to impose their version of the world upon the people and sort of control them in that manner and you can draw parallels that a lot of patriots may have felt that this is what the loyalists were trying to do that they wanted to take the British system and take upon the colonies in the Americas and a lot of people started to resist that idea, the idea like, people that are far away who think that they know better are trying to tell me what to do and how to live my life."

(I used the word "fit" because I could not understand what he spoke, but I understood the meaning)
EDIT - The word he used was dovetail, which basically means fit.

"You know like any project, we start with ideas and then the first thing we wanna do is put aside key ideas or the most risky ideas."

4:24-4:33
"We need to have risks to be lowered right from the start, like the tree navigation, like we need to know early on that it works. The Naval battle, we need to know early on it works."

Thanks, but what does he say about anvil next at 5:25 :) ?

ProletariatPleb
09-22-2012, 03:44 PM
"So AnvilNext is the next major iteration of Assassin's Creed engine, the Frontier is the number one motivation to do AnvilNext in the beginning so the first thing we tried was, can we make a forest that looks good but still works? *laughs* with a decent framerate, and is it still tread-able from a gameplay point of view. We did prototype stuff like the deep snow with deform-able tracks, previous games we had water but it was like a straight transition between water and ground, now it's progressive beaches, so what do we do with fighting in kneedeep snow, kneedeep water, animals mixed so it all came from the first prototypes."

If you need me to do it after this as well, tell me.

"We've spent a long time looking at rockclimbing, and different handholds that you have to use. We really wanted to shown off and do a lot with the animals not just about navigation and reaction. Executing the treerunning was one of our biggest challenges, that effort alone took so many people, so much time."

For the first time in the series we have a lot of slopes, like in the frontier, but there are many roofs with slopes aswell. So that means that you can get into fights on rooftops that have very steep slopes.

The footage kinda speaks for itself.
