In the video conference Nintendo had the new HUD, then I think so.

Well what if it's just for the Wii U?

I think not. That HUD is also seen in the new video from IGN, 360 version.

I really like the old design, but the new design looks a lot more animus-like and is a bit more clear about just how much health you have left. Couple that with that there'll probably be the option to set transparency (old AC's always had nearly full customization of the HUD which was great) and I'll have to vote for new.

Speaking of HUD customization, anyone thought about the possibility of being able to select a style yet? Maybe you can select either and they're just different styles?

Well I like both of them, but I donīt really like that bar on the side of the mini-map of the new one

Yeah I was gonna bring up the very first HUD, but 'The-Hollow' has already embedded it. Personally I preferred the very first one, it was sleek, had a great layout and the Assassin logo was present and integrated into the map which looked nice and tidy.

My second favourite would be the one shown at E3, simply because it still had the Assassin logo (I seem to have a thing about that :P)

With the newest HUD, I really like the synch bar layout, but I don't like the fact they got rid of logo and replaced it with the hooded face. Also, I agree that it's a bit too dark.

EDIT: it does seem like you can change the transparency, so that's alright.

I actually think that the HUD seen in IGN's video from yesterday was a darker color because they over-saturated the colors of the video assets they received when editing the video. Look at the green incognito Assassin icon next to the mini-map at 1:18 in the IGN video and see how bright the green is. It's so bright you can barely even see the hooded Assassin icon, making me think that can't be the intended color. Also, the health bar is solid white in the IGN video, while in the WiiU Boston gameplay video from last week shows the updated HUD with a light blue health bar. I think that the light blue was so saturated it's showing up as white in the IGN video.

I think the colors in the IGN video are just too saturated, not that the HUD is less transparent. Besides, the option to adjust the opacity of the HUD seems like an overkill feature that almost no one would use. They've always let you hide and show lots of elements of the HUD in the AC games, but I don't remember any level of customization on that scale.

LOL same.

But seriously, there's nothing different. It's a different notoriety box with a bit of a more notable health bar. That's not much change?

The new healthbar actually suits the style on the animus.

New I guess, I like the scheme better, although I will agree they look VERY similar... too similar to be compared almost.

I don't like the new health bar.... it just looks a bit jaggy and out of place, and fatter. I liked the Pre Alpha health bar, just a simple elongated moon shape nicely fitted around the map.

Then again, ultimately IDC :P

This kind of goes along with the HUD.....At times it seems like there is a lot of information on the screen at one time, especially when there are multiple objectives, new ones and then ones you complete. Also, it looks like they have tried to keep you moving through the game instead of the stop and choose to accept missions - unless that is on purpose for the demos and previews. Do you think the screen gets too crowded at times? Some of the gameplay cues are less obtrusive than before which is nice. Overall, it looks like a smoother interface.
