I know this is probably a bunch of clutter to this friendly community including all ya'll guys and girls, but I would just like to know.
I am asking for the answer as I won't be allowed it if it's an 18, so just a heads up would be nice. ;)
Cheers.

In the UK - it's currently an 18 - due to content.

But if I am correct, with the past games it did the same and updated the rating in the last month... Isn't that just a place holder? It will be rated a 16 (should) personally.

it's PEGI 18 in the UK, unfortunately :(...and the germans and autralians are also very stict with violence in games so yeah...It'll be most likely 18 almost everywhere...

But since it is PEGI rating it It could have a chance of being a 16 or 16+ right? I mean the same kind of thing happened with the past games from what I know. So hopefully it'll change. (:

When the previous AC games were released, the UK were still using the BBFC system (and rated AC games 15 as far as I know). But some weeks ago they adopted the PEGI system, and to date, all major AC games have been rated 18 by PEGI.

Why do you care so much about age restriction?? I am 15 and I played all of the games. I donīt know about other countries, but here a 13 year old could buy all of the AC games... I mean these games are not so violent- it is just human beings fighting with swords. Little kids( usually boys) play with miniature soliders and pretend they are shooting each other, itīs not that different from this game. Take Dead space, Doom,... Now those are game with violence.

On topic: I think it will be 18. I bought all of the AC games and on the box is written 18...

How old are you if i may ask?

So technically your parents would let you play a 16+ propaganda wargame but not an assassin's creed game where you could actually learn some history?

Maybe it's time to explain and inform them.
You could show them some nice AC content to show them that it's about a lot more than killing alone.

Right, let me sorten this picture for you.
I am 14 right, but I am allowed up to 16+. I am not allowed 18 games, just because it's rated an 18.
If it's rated an 18 my parents don't care what it has, just that it is an 18. Lol.

I don't really see how shoving a sword through someone's face and twisting his head 180 degrees is not so violent.

Yup. :/ I mean I can see why they don't want games with such frequent language, but games with violence aren't really that bad at all. -___-
Maybe I can show them previous AC games were also rated by PEGI...

Yeah, just try some stuff out.
Just try to let their reason kick in.

Tell them that there was a lot of nasty stuff going on back then (native genocide for example) but that it's part of history and that you wanna learn some history by playing this game. Something like that.

14 years is pretty young but i also played violent games when i was 14 years old so...:p

Mr_Shade

18 is by law.. so i'm sorry but officially at 14 - your too young for it - other wise it would be rated lower.

If your parents buy it for you - then that's down to them.. however stores do have a responsibility to not sell it if they know it's for you. [at least in some countries.]

Adult themes.. graphic scenes of death.. swearing..

Many, many reasons..

Pegi would not rate it at random.

However - the fact is - it's 18 - at present..

I don't expect it to drop before release - however you could always hope.

Plus PEGI is law in the UK now.

It also now becomes illegal for retailers to sell to underage customers, with a Ģ5000 fine, and a prison term being the punishment. The new age brackets are now 12, 16 and 18.

I know, but I believe BBFC actually have a better clue of rating games than PEGI. Not saying that just because I can't get the game at this point, but Crysis 2 = 16, but AC = 18.... You can turn voices off and the blood and all that, but in Crysis you can't. -_____-

Can have many reasons.
They actually raped a lot of native American girls back then, so it would immediately get an 18+ rating if that's in the game.

But that doesn't seem very relevant to the storyline, only the history of the game...

Also the whole fact with CoD,whats it rated,+18?How come that major numbers of players are around 12?

Try to tell her what the game is about, tell her that the game isn't about killing civliians, infact in the game that isn't even allowed, tell her the game is about fighting for what you believe, fighting for freedom, fighting for justice.

Like they're going to be related to the storyline, I don't think in anyway how it could be. However, it is very historical. :/

No one has any idea of the storyline, outside of Ubisoft... However the games plot will have in input on the final rating..

However the fact remains - it's an 18 - you can try and dismiss it as much as you like, however it's an 18..

So you're out of luck.
