I wanna see some tracks of someone sawing the wing off a lagg 41 with ONLY the mg in the nose of a 109g2.

I put arcade mode on, emptied my ENTIRE ammo load of MG right into the lagg (a friendly at that) and could never even get noticeable damage, holes, or structural failures.

This lagg is still flying with every inch covered in hits (arrows marking where I nailed it). Must be 300 or so arrows stuck in the lagg and still not one hole, control surface falling off, wing falling off, or any fire.

The plane always goes down due to pilot kill.

I slowed the game down to 1/4 speed and made sure EVERY mg bullet I fired went right into the lagg...so what ever my entire mg ammo load was, that lagg took it without any structural failure.

Is there something wrong here, someone post a track of them sawing a lagg wing off with mg only, I'd like to see that.

Try to get the target at the distance of your "convergence" setting - that way you do far more harm - set it to 150-250 meters should do it http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif Lagg 41 ? or ya mean Lagg-3 (1941) hehe http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

I wish people would fly like that online, nice and steady http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-wink.gif notice how the most damage occured when the bullets struck the wing from a higher angle downwards, if he had been scissoring over my gun sight showing more wing area then I probably would have done more damage in less time.

I have set at convergence, at 100m and I dont start firing until I get at least that close.

Xnomad, how did you get the lagg to fly so level?

Even when I set it to rookie friendly or enemy, they always start banking or jinking when I start shooting.

Despite that, I never missed, not one bullet, I only fired when the bullets had a piece of plane to go into. I couldn't get it all in the EXACT same spot though, still, the plane takes every bullet with little to no damage, usually a pk occurs after awhile.

I think these mg are a little weak or that lagg is a flying tank.

Set the Lagg's guns to empty and the AI to rookie.

Most of the guns are really weak at the moment but the next patch 'should' fix this. I put a lot more holes in a Brewster online with a Rata and he got away. Of course it is difficult to aim for the same spot like I did in this track in a dogfight, especially on a thin target like the wing.

[EDIT]
I forgot to mention that in QMB the AI will fly according to how much success it had against you during the previous round. I really like that in QMB I have a great track of me chasing 4 'Ace' Spitfires on my own in a G-2 because I had shot them all down during the previous mission so they were scared of me. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

Didn't realise AI did that. Interesting.

All due respect but I don't think the AI are good enough to remember anything or anyone from one mission to the next. Would be nice if it was like that. I think they were running from you because
they were probably novice, which usually bug out rather than fight aggressively.

Thanks XNomad for the excellent demonstration of how penetration angle/hitting power can influence damage.

The other point that should be made is that if you cover "every inch" of a target in hit arrows, you are only spreading the damage around. Concentrating fire on the one single segment of the planes DM will take them down much faster.

The "weak guns in AEP" 'bug' is, as far as I know, almost exclusively limited to online play.
