I guess quite a few of you read the novels. In which case, that will be of relevance.

The fifth book will be a tie in with Assassinís Creed III, aiming to explore the story of the upcoming game. It will be called Forsaken, and is set for a Q4 launch (Penguin have the publish date as 31st October 2012) (http://www.penguin.com.au/products/9780718159498/assassin-s-creed-new-book-2012)

I gotta wonder if we will ever see a AC movie...AC is doing well on other forms of media.

I also saw an interview with Corey May in whish he said "Sorry, I can't discuss our plans for a movie," or something like that. The fact that he couldn't say anything at E3 makes me confident that we should start to hear much more about it after AC3 is released.

Also. Those books are really aweful lol.

Indeed, we can expect to hear more about the film in due time. And yes, Oliver Bowden's writing style indeed doesn't appeal to all... XD

That's an understatement, hehehe!

.....I really liked the books.
I think they will try too put AC1, ACII and AC III into one movie. Which is why they are silent about it.

That would be awful. The storyline of one game is already too long to put in a movie, unless they make a three hour long movie. Even then, the story would be cramped down to fit into the movie and it would thus be a solely commercial project. I'd rather have them create an all-new storyline that can fit in the time frame of a movie, and still be good.

That's what I thought aswell. It's really tough too cram the AC story into a movie.
Unless they do AC1: Part 1
AC1: Part 2
Something like that.

That would still be too short.

Interesting, since my grandfather has taken an interest in the AC novels (he's about half way through Renaissance now), i guess i know what i'm gonna get him for christmas :)

A book for AC3 as well? Awesome! And love the name for it, it really suits Connor's character! I was actually thinking it might be named, something like, AC: Revolution so it can tie-in with the game like the Ezio novels' names, but I really loved that they didn't follow that pattern. I might get it when it comes out along with The Secret Crusade.

The Secret Crusade was an excellent novel. Recommend you get it if you have the chance.

Can anyone who's read the books post a paragraph or two, just so I can see if the style matches my preferences? I want to read them, but I'm worried they might be a little bit too basic/uninteresting linguistically.

That's about all I needed to see.

There's no shortage of genuinely good historical fiction out there which is actually well written. Try Andrew Miller's "Pure" (Revolution-era Paris) or Orhan Pamuk's "My Name Is Red" (16th century Istanbul).

Over here in the US, everyone not on the forums is barely finding out about Forsaken.

Nothing new that we didn't already know, but its going to be released on December 4th and will cost $9.99 (US).
