So will the map or character packs that come out for the multiplayer be free or just discounted if you bought the gold edition?

The product description for the gold edition says this:
"Extend your Assassin's Creed experience with a Season Pass that gives you full access to all additional DLC upon release, including an exclusive discount on all upcoming digital content, additional single-player missions and additional multiplayer packages,"

I must admit that they worded that really weirdly.

maybe that means that once the other DLCs from different CEs are made available for everyone you'll get them for free and you'll get a discount on any other DLC that they might release for AC3...

This would be my interpretation of it as well. They really could make it more clear though.

All the DLC that will be released on 30th of October (like mayan ruins DLC) will be free and you will get a discount on later released DLC (like the multiplayer maps and the lost archive DLC in ACR).
