Hi,

I don't know much about video games, but my sons adore AC games, and yesterday I got it into my head that I would design a bedroom for them in our new home with the theme of AC... I got a few things off of ebay so far- some old Italian coins, a a dagger that has a templar symbol, an antique map of Firenze... I may be able to find someone to do a themed mural, what would be the best scene, city or rural Italy? Can things from the original game (Altair character) be tied in with the renaissance story? Any ideas on bedding? Window treatment? They need a desk with lighting for homework. I will make it even more of a challenge for you by saying that everything must be shipped to south India, that's where the new house is.

Thank you in advance.

Try Renaissance Rome theme. For the bedding try a hay stack wagon where the protagonists leap into.

there are plenty of assassin's creed posters and artwork all around the internet.

and assassin's creed isn't only the Italian rennisance (assasin's creed also takes place during the crusades, 1500's instabul, and the american revolution.) but renaissance seems to be what you're going for.
as for a mural i'd go with a city, rome and venice are the most beautiful.

altair isn't really involved with the renaissance but he is part of the newest of the series: assassin's creed revelations, where ezio is able to relive altair's memories through "time machine" devices.

warm tones are best, yellows, deep reds.

as for furniture, these are all really expensive, but the style you might be going for http://www.rfurniture.com/store/merchant.ihtml?id=15&step=2

here's some pictures from the game that will help with colors

Thanks, this is great. Here's what I'm thinking- There are two beds in this room, both on the same wall. Instead of a headboard each bed will have plaster painted and designed to look like stones, and on the top a part will come out away from the wall with stucco, like the roofs that Ezio always runs on. I will mos def use these lovely colours. Thanks!

I checked the site that you told. I have an armoire already, that is for the TV and their beloved XBOX which don't exactly fit the decor... Only to be visible when in use. The TRUNKS are amazing and I just might buy one of those. I will call in the morning and see if they can internationally ship. Yay!

OMG! That is clever but I don't know if it's practical. However I will continue to think along those lines... That is a great aspect of the game, where one can jump into the hay wagon. So I will keep it in mind... Thanks
how old are your sons ?

OMG! That was a great aspect of the game, jumping and hiding in hay. I don't know how practical it would be for bedding though lol. But I will keep it in mind.. I want to fit it in some way.

You could always find a blanket that the top looks like hay. I think that would be cool. Get something that has the Assassin's logo and than something else with the Abstergo logo. This sounds like a good idea, maybe I'll decorate my apartment.

how about mixing the Assassins colors, White and Red, for there bed sheets or curtains ? maybe even the Assassins logo on the wall(mainly whichever specific logo design they want)

For colors I highly suggest maybe using a burnt orange or almost a copper color on at least one wall. I forget the exact name, but the closest one I have seen to the one I used is called "Mayflower Red". It's from a company called Benjamin Moore so I don't think you can get it anywhere but America. I painted my kitchen with basically the same color, and it really gives it a Tuscan feel. If you're mural artist can do one of Renaissance Firenze, that would be awesome.

I made my own bedroom a certain theme, almost like a bedroom of an old manor. I know for a fact that it's the little details that make it believable. You are thinking the right way with the map and the coins you're putting in the room. I'd like to see some pictures when it's done.

why burnt orange ? how about you paint it like the inside of the animus loading screen when Desmond is waiting to load up and it has all those lines all over the place

He already has maps of Florence, and old Italian coins. I was assuming he wants to have the Italian theme of AC2. Painting the room as the Animus though would be really cool if done right though.

ah, Ok. because yeah if you could have it drawn in a way that makes it 3D in a way would be a mind trip every time you walk in there lol, but that would require a bit of skill or hire a pro.

Great idea. In India many people do hand painted fabrics. I think I can make a bed sheet cover that is painted in various shades to look like hay.

You should try to incorperate the eagle, which is a symbol in all the games, and you could put some cool romulus lair stuff, like a wolf pelt from AC Brotherhood...

That is a good tip. I found a set of huge iron candleholders, they look stately and ominous, hope they will work. Your kitchen must be lovely. It must make you enjoy the cooking more :)

The animus is my younger son's favourite scene, but I don't think the artist I am paying would be able to pull it off. He has only done that trompe loiel thing or whatever it is called. PS ordered a templar flag and an assassin flag...

I don't know what the romulus lair is! I need to do a little more research.

I got some Leo da Vinci prints, copies of his illustrations of weapons..

Is there anything to do with an hourglass? Cuz I found a cool one. Or am I thinking of Prince of Persia?

Looking on ebay for a cool trunk for them to stash their 'florentines'... I typed in 'trunk' and I won't mention to you what I actually found lol gross

haha, thanks for sparing me the detail, and the hourglass is not AC, its POP (like you said)... Ad cool on the da vinci stuff, and dont worry about the romulus lair, its not a big part of AC anyways

Best. Parent. Ever.

I think the AC logo would look awesome in black or white on their walls. And great, you got templar and assassin flags? Where in India do you live? :O (I'm assuming you've ordered stuff online)

नमस्ते/ AOA,

At the moment I am in Miami Florida, USA, but most of my family is in Tamil Nadu or Sri Lanka. Miami isn't exactly the best place to find suitable antiques and I don't have time to go to northern states and look at antique shows :( so yes, all ordering is online. Don't know how well these items will hold up in the climate there...

iŽd go for a renaissance florentine look since it seems like the easiest thing to do(the main character is from florence too). Plus, you could paint/decorate the walls to look like one of the churches in florence, or atleast the same style/colors

birds and eagles are important animals in assassin's creed.
also some pictures of like the coliseum and churches would be cool.

here's some pics of ezio's house!

I think that an animus design along the wall would really make your children feel like THEY are in the animus. That would be pretty neat.

Maria's room is lovely... The other picture you showed (a study?) has iron bars over the windows just like the house already has, and I think I can get some wood paneling to put over the 4 windows in the room as shown.

Don't worry, I'm sure it'll work out :) I still think finding someone who can paint your walls in a texture similar to the animus would be SO cool :D

If they have a closet, painting the inside of that like an Animus would be pretty awesome
