Bf 110 is coming in free addon I think, Pe-2/3 will never be made because no one is willing to take a picture of the cockpit of any of the dozens of surviving Pe-2/3's scattered around the world /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-indifferent.gif .

At the start of WW2 the German army lacked experienced anti-aircraft gunners. The average gunner was so bad that the USSR decided to help them out. They did it by forcing some of their pilots to fly I-153 flak magnets. These planes were slow but very sturdy. This allowed German anti-aircraft gunners to get a large amount of target practice on a relatively small number of planes. Thanks to the Soviets help, by the end of the war the German anti-aircraft gunners were amoung the best in the world.</center>

Actually,I've heard cockpit data has been given to a Russian modeller. The data is either for the Pe-2 or 3. I don't remember which. It remains to be seen if the "mystery guy" will come through, though. All we can do is hope./i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

Somebody needs to get off their butt and photograph one of those Pe-2.

That would be a GREAT addition to the sim!!!

The 110, of course, will also be a great add, but I know it's well underway.

VVS has the TB3 http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

You mean that doesn't satify you to have the only flyable bomber be from 1939???

C'mon - it's a eastern front sim, they don't have pictures of these aircraft!

But, they are nonflyable, so you can shoot them down! http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

How about the Douglass A20?

That was used in the Eastern front - would be nice to have. Or il4? or all those other nonflyables?

Don't worry though, we will have another nonflyable soon - the B17.

Somehow someone from 1% made this thing for CFS3, but for FB we were told it would take too long with all the positions.

Would be nice to fly a Spit and a p51 http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I figure it's all free anyway, so I'm not complaining, at least the p40 doesn't explode when diving now!!!

(but the He111 and Stuka can't set mixture?)

I'll be happy just to have the sound working and the p47 roll rate fixed personally!

Heh, I guess you are not familiar with the heavy sarcasm in this forum
Hate to spoil your glimpse of happiness, but maj. Death's post was a sarcastic one.
What he really meant is that there are NO REMAINING Pe-2/3's in this realm. Vanished, scrapped, torned, burnt, mauled, and, finally, *pooft*. /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-indifferent.gif
So, no cockpit, consequently no cockpit photo, and, because of this fact, no virtual cockpit, resulting in the non-flyability of the Pe-2/3's /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

Actually I wasn't sarcastic, there are still many Pe-2's and Pe-3's still around. I don't think any of them are airworthy but they do still exist. There is one in mint condition at Manino in Russia. I also saw some picks of one being pulled out of the black sea. Not sure if that one would do any good but it might. Anyways, this whole "there are no Pe-2's left and no pictures of the cockpits so I can't model them" was made up by Gibbage. There are still numerous ones left and it is only a matter of looking up some pictures or just going to one of the muesams that has one. The real reason why the Pe-2 will not be flyable is because none of the third party modelers want it.

I am not sure exactly what the original poster is trying to say in his title:

"Dear Oleg, we are 7 friends, who want Pe-3bis vs Bf-110 flyable!!!!!!"

Does that mean he wants a flyable Pe-3bis instead of of a flyable Bf-110 series /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-indifferent.gif , or does he want Pe-3bis and Bf-110 to have dogfights against each other with human player/pilots at the controls?

There are a lot more than 7 people wanting the twins in the game.

I would really like to see the Pe-3 and Tu-2s flyable. However, I don't think that is ever going to happen unless one of the freelance modlers makes the cockpits and gunners positions. I mean who is going to spend alot of time flying a Catalina... I sure won't, but I would spend alot of time flying the Pe-2 1940's series of dive bombers. And yeah even the Bf-110. Oleg and 1C will never model those cockpits. There is no money in em. Get Gibbage to do it and we may be in business.

XyZspineZyX

*sigh*The Bf-110 WILL be flyable. Check the Dev.Updates. And the Pe-2 or 3 is supposedly getting a cockpit made.

Do you people ever READ the other posts before you type another one? Does no one check the Dev.Updates? Feels like we're going in circles....

Yes- Please- flyable multi-engine a/c...
I too wish for the p-e ..series flyable- Perhaps 1C Maddox could create a reasonable mock-up of the non-existant cockpit- with the following disclaimer:
"Due to the fact that exhaustive research can not locate any photograpic records of the interior of this aircraft we have used our best judgement to create an approximation ........

well, something like that- good grief- get these birds flyable somehow- please!! anybody???????//

For the Pe-8 : does anybody have the French book about this one (by Kulikov, Masslov, Cony, and Ledet) ? I think there are a lot of pictures in this one, isn't there one or two from the cockpit ?

Where's the gunner??? /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif - not flyable then I fear.... maybe they could do it like the Il-2 fieldmod and then ADD the gunner 'pit later /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif . I'd prefer that.

Pe-2/3: I think they are reserved for Maddox according to Il-2 center - as well as Il-4. Yep, I mean cockpits /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif . Maybe they will surprise us with a finished Pe-3 cockpit some friday... actually there's not much Maddox stuff in the latest dev ups. Most of it is 3rd Party.

Nope, the whole il2center system of "reserved" aircraft ended being a bunch of BS. Almost every AI aircraft in the game has been supposedly "reserved" at some point. If you haven't seen something in the dev. updates, then it is most likely either not happening at all, or so far from completion as to be irrelevant to Forgotten Battles (unless Gibbage is working on it).

I certainly hope that you are correct about someone doing the Pe-2!

Il-2/FB needs a bomber of that scale, along with the Il-4 (and Su-2!) to round out their side.

Pe-3bis took part in a lot of naval operations at Baltic and Black Sea such as bombing of enemy ships, intercept (as a long-range fighter) enemy planes deep inside over the sea, except its great job over the Moscow's sky at 1941....
" â 95¨é ˆ€!"(-"glory to 95th IAP"-with Pe-3 and comander Zhatukov.....!)
Also the Pe-3bis included armament as PC-82 and PC-132 NCRM,which did a great job not only against planes but against ships, too!!!!!!!
