Kozhedub: In combat potential, the Yak-3, La-7 and La-9 fighters were indisputably superior to the Bf-109s and Fw-190s. But, as they say, no matter how good the violin may be, much depends on the violinist. I always felt respect for an enemy pilot whose plane I failed to down.

AEP is super http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_cool.gif

I've discovered a new FB love: the P-38.... what an excellent plane!

Oh, and the Me-163 is an absolute hoot http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/53.gif

AEP, yet more Maddox magic....... can we even begin to imagine how great BoB will be?

"As weaponry, both were good, but in far different ways from each other. In a nutshell, I describe it this way: if the FW 190 was a sabre, the 109 was a florett, or foil, like that used in the precision art of fencing." - Gunther Rall

"Happy" is an understatement. So manu new planes, a much better DM in my opinion, and finally, FINALLY, some bombs for the He-111 so that i can stop being the allies' laughing stock in my squad http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

An excellent add-on. Some bugs here and there, but they've been take care of as far as i know, and every software has bugs. Bravo.

Great !!
For me as a Brit I thought the greatest plane would be the Spit, but now it has to be the P38.
I like the way you can loose an engine in combat, get it feathered and still put up a good fight on one.
The trouble is this game is TOO DAMNED GOOD !! I spend too much time at it and my wife regrets ever buying me IL-2 Sturmovik.

I'm very happy with the entire IL-2/FB/AEP line, developer support is top notch, and Oleg's patience and graciousness in interacting with the fans is remarkable.

If Oleg and team really plan to extend IL-2/FB/AEP's scope to include other theaters (Pacific & Med come to mind), all the better. Lead and we will follow.

I am very happy with it...I've finally put Il-2 Sturmovik on the shelf and am giving FB/AEP my full attention. Now where's that Spitfire Mk IX? I may be done with the original, but you'll never break me of wanting more free stuff!

LOVE it!
Could ramble on & on about all the things that impress me, but I will say this instead. Its like an alternate world that Oleg created. I wish I was either younger so I could stay up all night or retired so I could fly all day.
THANK you Oleg and your entire team.

Put me down as a satisfied customer.

Wouldn't mind the Pony being a tad faster, and wouldn't mind the Ki-84 just going away, but I love AEP. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_cool.gif

AEP is a beautiful piece of work! I just sat there for the first 2 hours flying the Spit past the remote camera! At this rate I'm going to have to lay in some more copies of FB in case mine wears out and it's no longer available. This game will run and run! Bring on the Tempest!

Very happy. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

First thing I tried was the Spitfire in a big engagement with Heinkels and Messerschmitts. Then I tried the same thing from the seat of a Bf110.

Then I tried the Gladiator vs some Cr42s. Then I did it again because it was so much fun. Can't wait for my first squad vs squad biplane furball. Just brilliant!

Had a brief play with the jets, just so I can say I've flown all the planes in the AEP. Doubt I'll be doing so again, although the 162 is a beautiful design, as a crap plane whiner I find 'em kinda soulless.

Flew the P38, love the noise when you jump into a twin, great fun although I think it'll take a while to get used to it - that thing picks up speed so quickly going downhill I make a smoking hole in the ground on my first attempt at a Split-S.

Still to try tonight : Me163, Ta152, P51B/C, Mistel, SPB + the others I've missed.

Also, is it me, or are all the "rookie" planes I set up to be cannon fodder in the QMB a lot smarter than they used to be?

Cheers!

Have being enjoying it for the last 3 weeks unstopable. No I no longer play any other games at all, just FB-AEP.

Be it off or online, best game I ever played, period. And now that I discovered the joy of COOP flying, I can finally kiss the Air-Quake servers goodbye. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_cool.gif

Ahem! sorry about that!

Fave Plane so far: TA152H http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/784.gif- can vaporize just about anything in this, B&Z tactics work well for me, when I get it right! and its not too shoddy at low alt either, roll on the 152C http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gifhttp://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

other honourable mentions: Gladiator (I know its a J8 but I am british so forgive me, I will always call it a Gladiator http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-wink.gif)

Spitfire http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gifhttp://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif - On looks alone this (particularly the non clipped wing version) wins - I have a soft spot for Spits in general, only gripe is that she isn't particularly quick, thats what we are getting the IX for http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/784.gif but everything else is great (where's the love-heart smiley lol)

"Fun" planes: BF 109Z. Ok was a bit skeptical about this but it seems to fly quite well and to be honest it is growing on me. Its fast (which is good) and the default armament is just plain nasty! http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/icon_twisted.gif

also ME 163 is a hoot - find it rather hard (can't be bothered sometimes!) to slow down in order to shoot at things LOL!

Flown 162 and YP 80 but not enough to have an opinion, yet.

And yes (shrugs guiltily), I do like the KI 84-1c - a FW 190 on steriods! at all alts!

just humble first impressions. Well chuffed! had no problems installing either over a fresh FB 1.0 install.

I will now have to drop some cash on this rig (Graphics card!) so I can turn on some of the "candy". ASAP!

Right, I am off for another jaunt for an hour before bed!

cheers

Andrew
