That's really cool. Interesting to see some of the stuff they had planned back then and how things evolved, like civilians being able to grab and punch you and horse-mounted combat which we wouldn't see until ACB.

lol you're too excited for the thought of a female assassin, those were most likely male. You really can't even say what they were 100% so saying female is wrong. But the vid is nice, loved the combo the two assassins did, one blocking and holding the guard's weapon while the other kills him. And double horse combat, sword and crossbow. So they almost added everything they organically wanted in Prince of Persia: Assassin. They have mounted combat, better AI, duel wielding, and now they can even have co-op (MAYBE)

Is it weird that knowing Assassin's Creed was originally to be a Prince of Persia spin-off somehow diminishes the idea for me a tad?

Dunno why... but I'm glad we have what we have now :p

Hmmm that's very interesting actually. Too bad they didn't put that bow and arrow in AC1.

to bad the combat isnīt like that, anyway, that was pretty cool i guess

Seems like they took LOADS of steps backwards for AC1 in terms of environments collapsing and seeming-less fighting transition animations

True, but i like the stair walk animation though.
I can't believe that animation was still absent in ACR last year, 7 years later.

Oh look, we could walk up stairs like humans back then. How times have changed.

Why would you assume that it was a female?

I can't believe people actually pay attention to how the character walks up an entire three steps. I didn't even notice there were any stairs in this video before someone mentioned it.

Still, it seems odd that they can put the effort into making sure the feet match up to the steps in an early prototype, and yet for four fully established games, they've neglected to keep to that.

Bet they're glad it wasn't just a Prince of Persia spin-off now, seeing how Assassins Creed is far more popular than Prince of Persia (which I think is pretty crap tbh)

Is it really a prototype though, or pre-rendered movie to get the feel of the game? Because it really looks too good for a game made in 2004.

It looks like it had been modelled with a 3D modelling software, so it is likely that it was a prototype.

For those who played PoP trilogy, the camera angles and the stairs animation are copy-pasted from the game.

Play the Prince of Persia trilogy...those games ARE too good for the years they were made.

Actually, you were able to fight while on a horse since AC1. ACB only introduced horse against horse combat :P

Anyway, this video is a fantastic find, just like the previously released AC1 concept art. Quite interesting to see where the franchise could have gone.

Actually I have played The Two Thrones, but I played it a long time ago and just the beginning parts (never really got into it). But I do remember the graphics were pretty good.

I know! But it all seems like a scheme to me. Ubisoft can obviously do all these things and I think we will see all the stuff they could do 7 years ago in AC3......
