Aha I just read that article as well. I like the idea of having more options after you successfully counter. Adds more depth to the combat.

yea i thought that was pretty interesting. Also i like how the drummers can call more guards/soldier over if you don't kill them

I do love the fact that the drummers will need to be eliminated first. That's a cool thing, we'll have to think it out a lot more.

I'm happy they finally made changes to the counter system. So... no more killstreaks? That's a good news.

I love killstreaks. Personally I felt like the solution for ACB / ACR would have been to simply add more enemies. Instead of fighting 4 at once, you fight 12 at once, etc. and make them attack faster. It's fun being a bada$$, but you don't want to be "God" either -- need to have some challenge to it.

The killstreaks made the fights way too easy. I'm glad Ubisoft finally realized that it's much more fun to be stealthy.

I would have to agree with that. The more enemies there are the better. But I'm looking forward to seeing some stealth kills from bushes and deep snow. Go Rambo on a redcoat.

Big burly scottish men with axes? being scottish myself, hmmmm i think i'll try and stick to killing the redcoats with no kilts on! lol
but i like how you can fight fellow native americans, not all were allies at that time. so when we see a a convoy patrol of redcoats/blue coats we'll have to hide behined a tree and plan our attack , i like :)

I think there'll still be kill streaks but starting them will be trickier. It sounds like the counter window has been made smaller and depending on which but.ton you press, within that time you can either dodge an attack or attack someone yourself.

So, we get to mix and match what weapons we hold In each hand, both with there own "Assassinate" animations and we can Counter Assassinate 2 enemies at the same time. Do you even realize what this means!!!!!!!!!!!! This game's gonna' be HYPE!!!!!

Hmm, even with the new combat changes, it still sounds like you'll be able to slaughter a lot of people. It's just that you'll have to be a little more careful this time.

the first one was difficult?

the first one was difficult?

I thought the first one was challenging. Because you had to time your counter attacks. Guards could also counter your attacks. And larger groups of enemies in AC I were a pain in the a$$!!.

AC2 had more challenging combat as loads of the guards weren't affected by counters and it took loads of hits to kill them, if you were swamped by about 7 guys you were screwed

AC I was the hardest because it was the first..
The rest were easy because we played the first one..
Thats why when people skip to Revelations, they find it UNBEATABLE !!
Thats when we, Hardcore players, laugh..

Because the combat was not OVERHAULED..
just tweaked; the familiarity was still there, thats why It just gets easier..
Its an illusion built by our mastery over the years we`ve played AC..

There was nothing hard about AC1 at all. It was easy, short and repetitive.

Very true. I liked it a lot and I still do, but it really was.

The funny thing is that, although AC1 is still my least favorite, every time i replay it it like it even more. The same with AC2 and ACB. Unfortunately i can't feel the same way about ACR, don't know why exactly.

Well my father is very bad in video games but even he thinks that it is very easy .So in my opinion it is pretty easy. I'm still wanting my difficulty settings:mad:.
On topic...Wait what were we talking about? Ah yes, the new information. Changes in counter mechanic sound promising but I am not sure if I understand how it works. I would love to see a gameplay video.

When you successfully counter someone, instead of automatically killing them, time slows down for a small period of time, during this small window you can press an additional face ****on to do a corresponding action. It's essentially a way of mapping counter kill, dodge, etc. to one ****on, freeing up the other ****ons for other things.
