Through my next playthrough of AC2 I want to stop playing when Venice is really lively. I assume it is during Carnevale but is there a certain mission where the city looks its best?

I don't think there's any real change throughout the game. Each area just has its own "mood" depending on when Ezio was there.

Carnivale is probably where the city looks its best. I believe you can free roam as that is going on.

I went back to *** creed 2 and this time i started doing the side contracts when carnivale was going on and that was probably the perfect atmosphere around my assassination attempts.

Yes, but I don't think it's actually shown to be celebrated in the other districts.

The entire city celebrates Carnevale, but after you assassinate Marco Barbarigo, it is only celebrated in the Dorsodoro district.
