What you guys think of that?
Would that be something that would interest you if it was a real concept?

Haha. Look's like AC/Megaman. I wouldn't like it in gameform but it's still a cool peace of art.

HELL, YES! Best idea ever--the period pieces are becoming a huge bother and I'm much prefer AC to go the path of modern Sc-Fi videogames; Halo + AC? All day, erryday.

That looks awesome!

But it looks more like an Assassin's Creed/MegaMan cross-over, not a pure future Assassin's Creed thing.

Like the Templars, Ubisoft needs to do what people need and not what they want. Ubi knows what's good for you.-

Then they need to stop making video games, since they're not what people need. People need food, water, breathable air, etc. According to you they should start producing that.

Oh, and that breathable air stuff? Turns out it's called oxygen

I'm fairly sure he means air devoid of a lot of pollution.

AdamXEve

Yes, but even that air would be breathable. It wouldn't be advisable, but still feasible.

Assassins Creed set in the distant future? Worst idea ever... No, I want to explore rich existing cultures, not made up stuff which doesn't have significant meaning to the world we live and know of.

Hey, you insulted me first. Not to mention that if you really wanted to be the 'better man' you would of just reported me and refrained from throwing yet another insult.

Anyway, I understand Assassin's Creed just fine, and I like this fan art for what it is. Fan art.

Never said Ubi should make a game based on it, but I do like it.

I'll rephrase then. People who think this should be made in to a game don't understand AC.

I want it made into a game, I understand AC quite well. it could still work. It could work better because it's completely free land to tell any story. Take into consideration the probable advancement and make a game of it. It could work. But I'd want an AARP before that.

This isn't AC's flavour at all, it just wouldn't feel right. Its would also be a whole different universe with all this robotic mech stuff added. If you want something futuristic, why not have a game set in Eden during the human revolution?

If you were back in AC1 days, would you think climbing trees, nearly all enemies using guns, America, using a Tomahawk, having all these additions such as Economy, Assassins, Rope Dart, kill streaks, dual wielding, boats, swimming, Clubs, hunting, etc. are right for AC?

People appear to have misunderstood what I said. I like the art too, but I would never buy an AC game with that on the cover.

You're just spouting features completely out of context. If I'd been told back in 2007 that the fifth game in the series would be set in the American Revolution, all those features would be plausible. The essential core and flavour of the game is intact. A future-based AC would not be able to deny the use of heavy automatic guns, which would completely destroy the fabric of the game. Either that of glowing blue electric swords, but that's just bull****.

not that poisonous, they give you pure oxygen when you go into labour, and its apparently really relaxing

Exactly, constantly inhaling a sedative isn't healthy

No, if they said the next game was like that? The game is completely different from the original. Many things have changed since then. We've been held by the hand and given stuff slowly, but if it was a sudden change to AC3 it'd be a huge jump and change of game. The core would be AC, as it still is, but the jump would be enormous. Same applies in making a future game.

I honestly believe the core wouldn't be the same if it was set in a futuristic time period.

Who says it needs to be in the future? If they go back in time to the TWCB cities, it would feel futuristic.

But it's not permanently breathable. It'll kill you if it's all you're breathing for a prolonged period of time.

Oxygen Toxicity http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oxygen_toxicity

Bad stuff happens with prolonged exposure to high concentrations of oxygen. Even scuba divers and astronauts have to be careful.

No no no, the core of AC is historic . Making a game set in the future would break that,

Experience-wise, yes (which is what's actually most important). To switch to a futuristic or even near-present setting would break one of the main concepts behind the experience of AC, which is playing in historic times at historic places. It wouldn't be contradictory to the philosophies expressed in the games or the story itself, but it would break the experience.
