Is someone modeling this fine aircraft? It would be really fun to fly this versatile bomber. It was used extensively in the pacific which warrants it's inclusion in the game.. please modeller guys http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

The problem would be that the Ventura had a radar http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-indifferent.gif But couldn't we just ignore that?

Armament:
Two fixed forward-firing 0.50-in machine guns, twin 0.50-in guns in dorsal turret, and two flexible 0.30-inch machine guns in the ventral position. A pack containing three 0.50-inch machine guns could be added underneath the nose. 3000 pounds of bombs, six 325-lb depth charges, or one torpedo could be carried in the internal bomb bay.

Edit: It should be more clear what I mean now.

Well, we're getting the Navy version of the Mitchell, which were equipped with radar, so perhaps they have found a way of modelling radar. Or maybe not. Dunno.

Hmm... as the game isn't made with the intent of using radar, such a radar would probably not be very realistic, maybe. I guess they could make some arcade-style radar... but that wouldn't be much fun.. IMNSHO.

They wouldn't put the Mitchell in unless they could model its radar. And they wouldn't do that unless they could do it well. Remember the crude "landing radar" for the He 111? I think that's proof it can be done.

Well, not the same, but the Douglas A-20 can do most of those things they did (except transport).

I do agree it would be great to have it, but if the A-20 is there, we can hope to accomplish similar things with it.

I'm sure they could give a simple simulation of the effect of radar - press the "R" key and your AI radar operator could give you a bearing and range to target - if there is a target within radar range.

OT, but I say that very same Dune quote often...
