That was pretty cool interview. I like the reasons they gave for using the US for a background.

I hope this finally proves to people that things won't be as black and white as some fear. I mean, they say themselves "it wasn't so clear cut".

You can see the hidden blade in almost every picture of Connor. I don't know how people can miss it.

Yeah Corey May is amazing writer. AC1 and AC2 stories were so much better because he was writing the story :)

I'm liking the design of the new hidden blade. It's quite different. :)

Also, the fact that they used "Desmond Miles" as the background track. :D

Yeah Corey May is amazing writer. AC1 and AC2 stories were so much better because he was writing the story :)Yeah:). I also liked AC:B's story with the corrupt Borgia family, the WTF ending, the lairs of Romulus, the awesome glyphs with the chessboard(oh man i missed them in ACR:(. I really enjoyed investigating all the buildings for hidden symbols.) and the Da Vinci DLC ofcourse.
I really can't wait for AC3 and i'm eager to hear some new information. I read somewhere that AC3 will have glyph puzzles again but without the subject 16 stuff. Can't wait to hear more about that too;).

I liked AC:B also but I always felt the ending was kinda rushed

Also since a bit of Alex Hutchinson's interview from before was in this video, are the other peoples interviews going to have a video of their own. I hope so :D

I think this video was labelled as a teaser for the AC3 coverage on Game Informer's site. So I would imagine that the clips from interviews other than the Alex Hutchinson one we already saw will get their own videos on Game Informer's site this month. I expect one to be an interview with Corey May, since last year Game Informer had a video interview with Darby McDevitt as part of this coverage.

Yeah, he definitely is a good writer, but Dooma Wendschuh (AC1), Jeffrey Yohalem (AC2 & ACB), and Joshua Rubin (AC2) deserves credit too.

For anyone that still can't see the hidden blade...

I thought Darby McDevitt did a decent job with ACR (despite changing Shahkulu and Ahmet's deaths and ignoring the Shahkulu rebellion.

Not sure why they made them Byzantines and not the actual thing.

He didn't write ACB? I thought AC2 storyline was great, but I thought Brotherhood really just rocked and was by far the best game of all 4 games to date -- I felt like the story in Brotherhood FLOWED really well especially with how it was tied in to the side missions so well.

Very true, the way the ending was done could've been VASTLY improved -- running around with the apple wasn't the best of ideas...I bet Ubi wishes they had a mulligan to use on that.

Ah right, yes that is kind of strnge isn't it. Especially because the Byzantines had been removed from Constantinople since 1453.

Just stating fact and trying to help people out by telling them a way to get the information they want, earlier. Though typical internet is typical, taking everything in the negative way to be sure not to seem the fool.

He helped write it, but the head writer for Brotherhood was Jeffrey Yohalem, which I stated on the last page.

To be fair to them, I don't think most of them are familiar with the names of people involved with the series, so they don't know AC3 is Hutchinson's first project in it.

If I didn't know that, I would probably spit my tea too since Revelations is without doubt the worst case of graphics over education/gameplay I have ever paid money to own.

Best I could get. It's a screenshot from the 720p vid, taken on a monitor with resolution 2560x1440. Then I threw a few filters over it in Photoshop. It's a bit pixely on my monitor, but if your monitor has a lower resolution, it should look really detailed and stuff.

EDIT: Crap, tinypic resized the **** thing. >.< I'll get it uploaded somewhere else.

In that interview Corey May said that he has a way to make Feudal Japan fun with AC. So maybe for later games, we can go to Feudal Japan.

this looks like a double-hook that retracts with the blade, the blade shape is different from other AC's too

Somebody did bring it up in an earlier thread. It's too low-res for me to see any kind of hook but the blade does look interesting. Keep in mind this could just be concept art and not indicative of the final style.

I think he means those two protruding hook like... things at the side of the blade. Though it looks to me more like decoration than anything; I can't see how those would have any functionality. (Not that I would mind something similar to the hookblade. I very much missed it when I played through AC2 a few days ago...)

That other interview basically says The Fall will be getting another game, book or movie. Here's hoping for a Vita game running off the AC3 engine since that bad boy is so powerful. I mean....they have rifles now. They could just repaint some stuff.

Also -- I've always loved Corey May's personality. Canadian nerd whom isn't afraid to swear on camera. He swears at least once every time lmao. I remember a video for AC2 with him and Patrice swearing like crazy.

The dagger which Connor is holding here

looks very similar in design to the Hidden Blade we can see here
http://i41.tinypic.com/33ah4lx.jpg
And if you look at this you can zoom in and get a good look at the dagger
http://images.wikia.com/assassinscreed/images/5/54/ACIII-GI_%283%29.jpg
It looks rather mechanical and seems like the the cross-guard can fold inward.
I think that the hidden blade can swivel when it comes out to become a dagger.
In all the pictures I've seen of Connor when he isn't holding the dagger, I can't see it anywhere on him, so it's possible it's retracted into his bracer.
If this is so, I'm not sure how to feel, I've always liked the simple efficiency of the hidden blade and thought the addition of a hook wasn't worth the loss of a good simple idea. But I suppose as the times move forward, the weapon will become more complex.

That looks interesting. I do want to point out though that the dagger Connor uses in the trailer looks nothing like that.

wow. thats a really good catch russellsparrow

alright so i'm going to guess that the new nifty adaption of the hidden blade in ac3 is that conners wristblade can come all the way out of the rail system to be used as a dagger in open combat. thats my guess

edit: reading your post a little further, you already made that guess too haha.

rob.davies2014
03-12-2012, 01:57 PM
Thanks :) That's what you get from spending inappropriate amounts of time starring at pictures of AC3 :/
I actually don't think it come out of the rail, I think it extends all the way and then swivels at the point where the blade comes out of the sleev, so it's still like using a hidden blade exept it's a it more fluid because it's on a swivel.

LMAO at them becoming very excited when the interviewer asked them about the Assassin's Creed wiki, always nice to see some love for the wiki.

It's always good too when they explain some things that should already be acknowledged and known by the fans, like when Corey stated that TWCB are not aliens, and again, Jean made it clear that whatever Desmond's destiny is, the AC will continue.
