This is the problem with announcements about a new AC game on the horizon. Instead of posting in the already existing threads, everyone always feels the need to make a separate one for every possible comment they can think of. -__-

Next up: "New thread: Will we be able to dye our clothes in AC3?"

I've been looking at masculine Native American names to do with eagles myself.

Can you even have just one "Native American name" for eagle? Isn't that a bit like asking what the European word for something is? There were dozens of Native American tribes with their own distinct languages.

Rumor is that his name's gonna be "Julian Auditore".

Julian Auditore seems a little unlikely. But whatever.
There're multiple Native American dialects, we can only list the possibilities atm. It'll probably be confirmed on Monday.

Some algonquin pronunciations of Eagle. There are several Algonquin dialects so who knows really. Maybe Iroquois too?

umm this is already talked about in the thread I started but it most likely will be wehali or awahili also check this out

The eagle must be killed only in the winter or late fall after the crops were gathered and the snakes had retired to their dens. If killed in the summertime a frost would come to destroy the corn, while the songs of the Eagle dance, when the feathers were brought home, would so anger the snakes that they would become doubly dangerous. Consequently the Eagle songs were never sung until after the snakes had gone to sleep for the winter.

a story from the cherokee it is just my hunch given the photo on snow in a crop field from yesterday

But we don't really know what tribe he is a part of. I bet a lot of Native American tribes have Eagle myths. Plus why would it be centered around killing Eagles? Here's a Mohawk myth about Eagles http://128.121.123.151/www.mormonmohawk.com/traditional/eaglestory.html

umm i made this hunch because they both (the cherokee eagle story and the assassins creed photo from yesterday) have snow and ...corn in common ...including that we all know the assassins and eagle fixation....so it makes sense to add those two together

no he is right there are to many names from different tribes but given the snow myth that is told to and by cherokee and the snow pic from yesterday there is a big chance that he may be of cherokee decent .btw it does not matter to much from what tribe he is from because remember that 'indians' at the time were being killed A LOT so he might have either

1.) be born into the order of assassins or
2.) joined the assassins in order to get revenge (maybe on a specific templar named george[but I won't tell you which one hahahah :D])

probably will be cherokee since cherokees are the most popular of the tribes

He's half both races so:

Englishman named Eagle.
One of the billions exaggerated of names meaning eagle.
Might be like Cordell Fire-Walker (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Walker,_Texas_Ranger), Assassin Eagle-Something.

Until he gets a name we will call him Billy Candle (http://callofjuarez.wikia.com/wiki/Billy_Candle) though.

yeah his dad might be darth cherry tree chopper or something....and there have been atleast 2 people here that have logical conclusions to his name even though they are just a fun game of cat and mouse of finding out the guys name...he might be called something totally american and have nothing to do with eagle but atleast it isn't billy fire-walker or whatever....

it won't be... besides, it's highly unlikely when flavia is the one who carries on the ancestral line. women USUALLY don't keep their maiden name so the likelihood that the "auditore" name lasts that long is next to zero.

Little heads up with the Cherokee theory. They were allied with the English not the colonist and Continetal Army of the Revolution. This would make him less likely to join the Revolutionaries.

Where is it said the she carries the line? I could only find details on her happenings in ACE, nothing about Marcello.

It was hinted at, both by the emphasis on her in Embers and in interviews with the devs.

Aside from that, though, is the fact that Desmond is supposed to be special because of his unique ancestry (i.e. being related to a large number of legendary Assassins from different ancestral lines). If this next ancestor were a descendant of Ezio, that would counter that idea. Furthermore, I find it hard to believe that within a few generations a descendant of Ezio would have emigrated From Italy to the Americas and joined a Native American Tribe. We're more likely looking at someone of part Native American and part English/Dutch/French descent.

GLHS

It's on the wiki page too, and in his family tree as the one that carries the line down from Ezio.

As for a name, we'll find out soon, but I hope it's something cool. It took me a while to get used to the name Ezio but now I love it, so hopefully it sounds badass and rolls off the tongue.
