Ever since '46, I haven't been able to shake my lust for the Dornier-335, especially the V-13. I never dug it before then, now it's my favorite bird. An awesome cockpit, funky design, good hitting power and some kind of 'X' factor.

So what do you guys think about it? Just curious, and a little bored just now. lol.

Love it. I use the A-O for wild bombing missions, and the B for attacking heavies at high altitude through enemy fighters.

It looks anything but pretty and has no rear view.I like shooting it down.

I looks hell cool and has firepower comparable to the Yamato - absolutely love it.

I absolutely love this bird. Sure it has no rear view, but that is why you swerve left and right to check you tail often. You should be doing that anyway. She is a pleasure to fly and on the ground she drives like a Cadillac, nice and smooth with plenty of control http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif Nice internal bomb bay that holds a monster, and with no extra drag. Phenomenal hitting power and many other things just add up to make this one great bird.

The Do-335 is currently my new sweetheart! I love this baby! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/11.gif

She's surprisingly easy fly and taxi (great vision!) and she's fast, climbs well, is well armed, generally can take a beating and the firepower (even with two 20mm and one 30mm MK-103) is destructive. You don't want this thing behind you! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_eek.gif

Rear vision is non-existent, but hey, stay fast, do a few turns to check your '6 and you should be fine. A wingman is also a good idea. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_cool.gif

I also find the bomb payload useful, like when you know there will be targets of opportunity to bomb. Great bird. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_cool.gif

In the nineties I built a monogram 1/48 night fighter version. I love this bird. Got me some british B24 night bomber skins and then went after them in the 335 dress in evening-vear he he. She is a killa! I got to try to do some earth moving with her. Hey, I thinks I just planned my weekend.

I like the 335. It's ridiculously fast for a prop plane. Even though it's a big target and can't maneuver well for a fighter, you don't have much to fear from enemy prop fighters because of it's speed. I don't know if it'd stack up as well against jets though. Like most of the late war German planes it has got plenty of punch with the cannons. I haven't really tried it for bombing missions yet. And of course it is just a cool looking airplane.

It was the coolest plane to come out of the war. Imagine if the Bf-110 Zerstoren had been configured like this bird instead of the standard of two outboard engines. Even with DB-601's, or Jumo 211's, it woulda left the competition in the dust. Battle of Britain, anyone?

Ahhh....Luftdreaming...here I go again.

I'd rather have had the A-1 with boost than this one that was neveer built. At least a few A-1s were built. And the A-0/1 both have enough fire power for any serious destructive person.
