This is my recently commissioned 1:400 scale type IXc. The model is by Mirage and has the brass detail kit added. This baby took about 15 hours to build because of the teeny weeny little rails and pieces. The ladders going down to the lower deck were unreal small.

Don't be fooled in thinking that smaller models take less time.....unless you're some sort of elf.

i agree with you regarding the time factor!

about 15 years ago, i modeled all the 1:400 waterline wwII german battleships, cruisers and pockets i could find available on the market. i still look at them in amazement that i once had the patience to complete them.

yours my friend is a work of art!

This is my first attempt at photographing my models. These pics were taken on a Canon PowerShot S100 2.1Mp. Absolutely nothing special. I had a lot of difficulty trying to get the photos in focus as they were taken at very short distances (30cm or less). My goal was for it to be very difficult to tell exactly what scale the model is in the photos.
