Just recently, my friend and I were swapping stories from Sturmovik, and recalling memories of dogfights we were in, and we somehow got on the subject of World War One.We both noted that neither of us had seen or heard of a decent World War One flight sim in a while, if ever.It makes us wonder, is Ubisoft or any other game designer even considering developing a REALISTIC flight sim for this war?(Not one like Wings of War, where you carry 50 rockets, 50 bombs, can have up to four machine guns on your plane, and the flight dynamics are all off.....that game was WAY too arcade-ish for me)It seems that game developers have forgotten the First World War, and I'm wondering if anyone will ever remember it, or if they already have and are developing.Thanks.

There's also First Eagles by Thirdwire. It's a lite sim, but from what I hear it's pretty decent, as I'd imagine since it's coming from TW.

If you have CFS-3 you can dowload Over Flanders Field... Its prob the most inpressive piece of freeware addon modding that i have seen in a while. It gives new life to a somewhat dead title, and it definately fills a void that needs to be filled (WWI, Korea and Vietnam need to be looked at again for FS Titles) IMHO

Then you missed Red Baron? </div></BLOCKQUOTE>Yeah, they sure must have missed it I guess. The original Red Baron was not all that great but Red Baron II and then RB 3D were the ones that were classic. 3D was more just an update of graphics,
pretty much the same game.

I hope the website comes back up soon with some nice updates and videos... Getting a little antsy! Missing the old Red Baron days. Wings of Glory was a great great WWI sim, I remember it being really hard with torque effects and what not, and the enemy pilots screaming when you shoot them down was a chilling but immersive touch. I cannot find my CD now! I wanted to reinstall and compare the difficulty to IL2, I remember the planes being harder to keep level and control, but I was a bit younger then so who knows, maybe it's alot easier than IL2... But I can't find out until I find a download link or find my CD. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

I really cannot wait for Knights of the Sky. I'm not sure which I am looking forward to more, the car I'll buy this spring, or KoTS

I recall RB3D, circling Royal Flying Corps aerodromes, watching the little plane take off, and swatting them down after I lazily circle around above them in an Albatros or Pfalz...or flying circles around German scouts in a Sopwith Pup, and using it's little wood****** gun to nibble them to bits

This can be arranged. Was going to make a 4-6 aircraft skin pack of this unit "Flying Chiefs" but some guy released a similar idea to Flying Legends, so I never finished it and the 2 skins I made have been collecting dust on my hard drive for 2 years. I'll make sure they are polished in a couple days and send them to ya.
