I am looking at various movies that the Supermarine Spitfire featured in. I have listed what I can think of where the Spit done her thing. Can you think of any others?

Deep Blue World = Dark Blue World http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

When you say 'feature' do you mean that a Spitfire appeared in the film for only a short time perhaps?

Heh, heh. Yeah, thanks Avro! Well, a feature movie that the Spitfire appeared in throughout or had decent minor parts as well.

The Castellari rip-off of The Battle of Britain is fascinating as he used Spain's 109s for the RAF's Spitfires. So the 109s in the movie were plastic Airfix model kits of Spitfires in Luftwafe markings. Bizarre!

Never heard of this film. I would like to buy the DVD... http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/blink.gif

'A Bridge Too Far' has a few shots of a recon Spitfire at the beginning.

'Hope and Glory' had a short scene whereby a Spit shot down a Me 109 over London.

Thanks for the information about 'The Spitfire Pilot' movie from 1994. I'll check it out http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

As it goes, Castellari's The Inglorious Bastards is currently being remade by Quentin Tarantino in Berlin...

Not sure if his Battle of Britain movie is on DVD, but I do have an old VHS gathering dust somewhere.

I could be wrong, but I could have sworn I saw a Spitfire in the trailer for Atonement. I haven't seen the movie yet, so I'm not so sure.

From Wikipedia, in addition to those already listed:

Malta Story - 1953
Foyle's War - 2001 (a few episodes)

Mrs Miniver (1942 and 6 academy awards) has a few good scenes of a RAF airbase and some Spits taking off. Not a lot of aircraft featured but overall a great movie.
