Okay, so I was looking at the new groundobjects for a mission i was making..

I thought i wanted to play with the new trenches and bunkers.. So i placed quite a few of these new ones.. for a defensive permiter.

The bunkers surprisingly did not survive an assault from ONE single light armored car..

I thought i was wrong.. then i did a small test.

even a small calibre mg can destroy a concrete bunker...from several hundred meters away..

Is this really realistic?

Will this be fixed in a patch?
The bunkers are more sensitive to gunfire than a truck.. please... whats going on?

Right now they are just good to look at.

FWIW, I think that some such objects (and trenches) should be nearly impossible to destroy, while others should be easy. Trenches represent infantry, and since we have no infantry in the open, I'd say some trenches should be able to get wiped out by MG fire. Others (most) should require bombs or larger guns however.

It would be cool if the amount of damage required to destroy any given object was on a slider in properties...

Good idea Tater, saw the clip Petter hope you sent it or a track to 1C. kind of funny on the one hand , but disappointing was hoping to use these in a Kursk scenario.

Many ground objects are too easy to destroy, IMO. I'd love to see the threshhold for trees upped so that the radius of destruction from a bomb would be FAR smaller. Sucks to add a zillion trees to a mission, and 1 bombs makes it all for naught.

Remember for the trenches, though, that what needs to "count" for players is doing what the mission requires. Say you have to attck dug in troops for a breakthrough, at some level "destruction" is required for the mission to succeed, even if in RL it would be more variable. Still, seems like it should take a fair amount of strafing to supress infantry in an area.

Its not the trenches im worried about..
its these new CONCRETE bunkers.
Try for yourself.. place them and use a J8Gladiator..(its got pretty small mg´s)
you will become the top "bunkerbuster" in the airforce!

No i didnt send anything... this doesnt need a track.. just add the new bunkers for yourself and test http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif works in any plane.

I just frapsed it.. and converted to xvid with virtualdub. I didnt even care to make it look nice... the compression is awful, I still hope u see what I mean.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

Yes.. very good idea indeed..
And while we are on it.. another thing that might come in handy except object durability (by either a slider, and ulitmately a value in the .mis file for that object...) it would also be nice with respawn timer for each object.. either by fmb gui or a value on the line of the object in the .mis file)

Today, only some certain things can respawn, and some can not..<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

RRG studios did. Oleg doesn't run RRG studios

RRG only did the 3D models. All programming, including HP ammount of the bunkers was, obviously, done by 1C. Much probably, they just copied properties for this objects from some AT gun, or MG.

Actually this problem was similar with some of the previous bunkers in pacific fighters...

Well well...
Dont know if it will be fixed, just hope that BOB will have better damage model on ground objects.

I still think that some things are pretty "rushed" I mean... don´t they have beta testers or something?<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

If any changes are made:
Please increase the durability of trains and add hard to destroy placable bridges.

I know it is unlikely that any changes will be implemented but thank you anyway,

Make all the group tree objects virtually, or actually indestructable. Sinclge trees can be as they are now.
