Since I have been reading 'Hurrican Aces 1939-40' (Osprey Series) I cheated and went to the back of the book and read about Malta and North Africa. Aggh fighting the Italian clap traps in Hurricanes that should be fun! So I thought I'd give it ago. Well I went solo against a G.50, hmmm bit more challenging than I though, but I down it. Then being cocky I thought I'd fly two Hurricanes against four CR.42s. This should be a peice of cake I though. Not so!!! They are highly manouverable little 'bar stewards' - especially in numbers. Not only was I hit, my wingman was shot down and I just about got out in time. Yes, you can out run them but the only way to get em is BnZ tactics.

Ooooh! Nasty little gnats!!!

Tickety boo...

So was I http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/blink.gif... Got so used to fighting Bf109s/110s I didn't stop to think that bi-planes would be more manouverable.

Mind you I have never really been up against bi-planes before.

BTW Farkitt_ Is that a picture of Ginger Lacey in your signature? If it is I didn't realise he flew Spits, I thought it was Hurricanes...
