Hi all...little help please:

has anyone done up any Spit V missions or campaigns based on the siege of Malta?(realizing it is a tad difficult with map restrictions we have).

Appreciate if anyone can point me in the right direction...

Thanks as always,

Bird Brain and Extreme one are working on a Malta campaign just now but this has went quiet for a while http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/cry.gif

You could try bird brains El Alemain as a warm up Iv heard its good and has Spits- His The Blue was very good - but with gladiators and hurricanesboth from here http://www.pacific-fighters.com/en/missions.php

There is a single Buzz Beurling mission in an Aces pack - cant remember who done this and Im at work - but this is worth getting- perhaps someone else can remember where to get this

The Aces' Collection would be me as well dieg777. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif There is a link to all those in my sig. It is a single Spitfire mission with an air start and not a very good imitation of Malta, but it is fun anyway.
Extreme_one and I got started on a Malta Campaign with the mission template, but since the patch testing started (whoever might be doing that? http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif) I have not heard a peep, which leads me to believe there may be something in the patch that will have an effect on our Malta Campaign. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/10.gif

It will get cranked up again soon I am sure. I am just about done with the other project anyway. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

Thanks guys and Beebop...

Just reading "Malta Spitfire" and thought I'd get into the mood more.

June 8 is also the anniversary of Beurling's arrival in Malta so it's good timing.

Bird_brain: look forward to your campaign when it gets done. You and Extreme One always do great work.

Thanks for the support. I have to tell you though, it is "our" campaign. I didn't really want to mess around with Malta because it is quite a touchy subject, but I guess having a chance to do a campaign with Extreme_one is worth going out on a little limb. There are so many nationalities involved in that particular conflict, it could be a whole sim in itsself. The door is wide open for misinterpretation and hurt feelings.
Would you feel better if I released "Faith, Hope & Charity?" It is an 11 mission mini-campaign I finished a month or so ago, but I was going to add it in as a bonus with "Battle Over Malta". http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/blink.gif I guess all I would have to do is pack up the .exe file.

Oh & BTW, the 2nd 1/2 of the RAF campaign in "El Alamein" is Spitfire MkVbs over the desert. Mostly air to air against Me109Fs & Gs. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif You will have to survive about 15 missions as a Hurricane pilot to earn the privilege of flying the Spit. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif

Funny, I was thinking just yesterday how the incredible story of Faith, Hope and Charity is rarely, if ever, mentioned.

Would love to try the campaign - Thanks very much.

And will wait patiently for Malta.

PS: The Blue was a blast!
