You know it's the weekend because....

1. almost all of your sorties end because some idiot has rammed you

2. you've just been called a "cheater" because you won't dogfight on the deck with the opposition

3. 95% of the server is filled with 109's/Spits/LA's

4. "Printscreen" is the most widely used tactic

5. Your last kill refuses to hit "refly"

6. You've just got shot while in your 'chute

7. 1/10th of the server is using comms...the rest are badmouthing each other on the chat bar

8. 3/4ths of the server have the wrong markings on

9. There is a dude on chat bar wondering "Why the 109Z isn't included on the server?"

10. (insert your own here)

.....Is it Monday yet? http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/shady.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

You forgot, Know it alls complaining that everyone else doesn't play exactly the way they would like them too.
With out new peeps, this genre doesn't have a chance. I'm surprised its still here now.

It's funny because it's true. As for #3, I do make it a point to try and fly with more 'cerebral' fighters, so much more rewarding to me. Plus especially after Seafire's recent post about birds dueling in the air I think that cemented my position as a BnZ guy.

Although I have been guilty of excessive chatbar use as I unfortunately don't have a mic of my own.

10: You log on to your server to find the Pearl Harbor map up, and someone else logs in and asks in chat: "Hey, guys, where's the fight?"

(This has ACTUALLY happened before. I WAS THERE.)

i'm not speaking about noobs....they get a pass for goofing up. i was a noob, you were a noob, everyone at sometime was a noob. I'm more annoyed at the spoilers and the degenerates who seem to appear only on the weekends. You haven't seen this yet?

TeulelHund84, you say your a B&Z guy. What do you fly? I've tried and I cant finish the kill 80% of the time. And even if I get them completely helpless, someone on my side puts some in them on the way down.

This post would be funny if it wasnt so true,

'Weekend Syndrome' is common around these parts.

I suggest you climb to 4000metres and try and stay above 2000 at ALL costs, thats the best way I have found of avoiding most of it.

If you damage a bandit, just admit to yourself hes going to be stolen anyway and let him go. You KNOW hes going to attaract about 3 other players who will all chase you as you try to finish him off, shooting over your shoulder and generally making life hard for you.

Oh, well I guess I'm giving them an undeserved pass then (thinking they were noobs) It does seem I get pushed to fly some of the easier planes because there are people online that are very good with them and if I'm not in one, I know I'll just get shot down time and time again. I like a change myself and have considered coops but I don't think I'm good enough yet. Oh well I'm working on it.

When I used to admin the server frequently, I coined 'weekend mentality' for this behaviour. It started around 7-ish on a Friday and finished around Sunday afternoon, presumably when they had to go for a bath before school the next day.

The other classic symptoms are:

a. An abundance of bottom feeders kill stealing.

b. "Keystone cop" planes chases where n planes chase another one really quickly in one direction before all 'bouncing on one foot' as they try to make a quick direction change to follow the quarry.

c. Exclamations of 'come back and fight' by weekend Spitfire 'experten'

d. Plebdazzles disconnecting when you get on their 6.

e. 'This server is ****! Why hasn't it got a P51? (The map at the time would have been set in 1941 etc)

f. Some twerp drops his bombs just as everyone spawns then leaves.

Best to stick to co-ops in general..or fly in the week.

FW190 mostly. I never said I was good, just that I like to BnZ. That's an important distinction. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Fly FW-190 or Tempest and would not be much food left for the hyenas down low http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/icon_twisted.gif

Thats exactly my thread.

When I joined UK dedicated 2 this morning, only a handfull of players where on.
I thought: "Well, only a few people can be fun if they're the right guys."
However as I took of searching for targets I encountered an early Yak that had just bombed one of our suply transports.
I came in from above and he didn't even try to fight me but started running, diving to the deck.
Another 109 came down after him but didn't score any hits.
I slowly closed the gap and got into firing range.
He immidiatly started stalling his plane left and right, trying to loose speed as soon as possible.
I went on full power, hit him a few times and then planed to extend away for another pass.
But he stalled his crate and I couldn't avoid crashing into him.
I thought: "Nevermind, things like that happen all day."
Then there came some thing like "You mother******
bit**!"
I told him to watch his language ( sadly there werent any admins at the time) and that it was an accident.
"You ***hole! Stupid *******!
Better learn how to fly not ramming!" Or something similar.
I told him that this kind of behavior would lead to a ban sooner or later.
He stated that it would be "Better ban stupidity of ******** like you."
This was commented by another player with "lol".
No response besides that from the other 5 guys.

Two maps later the number of players had grown and I was fighting B-25s over North Africa.
When a gunner hit my 190 I immidiatly lost the aileron controll but managed to get back to base.
It happened 3 times in a row.
When I stated via chat that the AI gunners are a bit overmodelled and that the 190s dm a little off, I recieved "Stop whining and start fighting."
I replied "I am fighting", spearing out that I was leading the server in score.

I had enough and left.

Stuff like that only happens on weekends. There was no "regular" involved. Oh sweet monday.

Shame there were no admins around Hunin, they are very good on that server.

I know. I fly there almost every evening during the week.
I'm actually good friends with some of the admins; they're a great bunch.

This is a wee bit OT but I have 4.04m now. Should I shell out for Pe-2 so I can have more server choices?

Also Hunin does your sig come in a larger format? Would love to have that as a desktop.

Just got off UK2....Channel Map 42....you would expect to see the dreaded "Butcher Bird" laying waste to the RAF. Never saw one (praise jeebus; pass the ammo)
