Kinda plugging this for a buddy mine he has a decent amount of stick time in Falcons and is part of this game which is coming out. Looks good although it still has about a year or so to go before it hits shelves. I'm guessing it will probably come out about the same time as BoB.

Yeah, looks like it might be cool ... for missile wielding panzies. I prefer blazing cannons, rattling machineguns, spinning propellers and bullets up the ...

Real man flying, not launching missiles at blips on a phased array radar screen, dumping some chaff, then flying home. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/51.gif

That's cool, though. Good luck to your friend; there are a lot of people out there who don't like it up close and personal and love the high-tech jet sims. I hope it does well.

Yeah thanks for the comments he's pretty psyched about it apparently if it does make it on to the mainstream market he'll be pulling about 100Gs a year. Although it will take a monster of a PC to be able to render those graphics at any kind of decent framerate...

Either way I'll still be keeping an eye on it.

"HOT" Hollywood TV super jet dogfighter Ops. "Realistic" Arcade. Been there - Done that - Move along. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

We need a real jet sim with Real jets.

Crapp jets are over rated Lexx...

Although, Thunderworks' falkland conflict should be to your "niche" tastes.
Maybe we can pursuade you to join on the online dogfighter club? http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_cool.gif

Actually I was at his place about two weeks ago and he was showing me some of the stuff he was working on. He said there looking to match Falcon 4.0 level of realism, complex avionics management, radar, navaids etc.

Exactly...Nothing new since the "high realistic" 1990s sims featuring the exact same SuperFighters again and again...and again. I bet with all the Realistic Grafix, we still see the same small sized white Flak Puff "flight sim" clouds. Been there. Done that. Move along. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

And flight sim Devs everywhere wonder why they get themselves stuck in Niche Status.

All my Whinage aside, best of luck to the Devs. Is it Online Dogfight only or will it offer Online War? The name itself turns me off as it sounds arcade (a bad start).

Most important, if a sim may be successful, it could provide resources to be expanded into the past, or modding weather. However, the LOMAC Devs are not interested in going back in time -- what little I know is they want to go Helicoptor. Who knows, Fighter Ops may be The One, although it looks like Jet Thunder, if successful, and with one foot already planted firmly into the past (Flyable Mirage III), would be the more likely contender for expanding into a great international 1950-1970 combat jet sim.

A Dynamic campaign engine is being made for Fighter Ops.. similar to the one in Falcon 4.0

The name is actually rather interesting... the sim will involve more aspects of a pilots career than just spamming Amraams at helpless MIG-21s.
The pilot will have to go through training courses first on purpose built trainers... T-38s etc.

As for weather... I believe it will include dynamic weather seen in Falcon 4.0.... take off in clear skies and arrive at the target to be met with overcast clouds... Excellent in theory, but F4.0s graphics are repulsive..and it just looks like a grey mess on the screen.

Combine FS2004's density/dynamicism + LOMACs Uber graphics = Lexxs cloud dream.

In all seriousness Lexx... do you think your 60's era flight sims grab more attention than the modern ones like LOMAC and FighterOps? I would HAVE to disagree... the market seems much stronger for post-cold war mid-desert war scenarios than crapp jets. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

The day 1C:Maddox:Lexx releases a crapp jet era flight sim, I'll buy it for sure.

I'll get in touch with my buddy and see if I can get him to post on here. He's not really a WWII buff but an airplane guy nonetheless, since I feel like I'm getting in over my head here... http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/35.gif
