I saw that on TV a while back. I was looking all over for a copy of it. Thanks a lot.

i wonder why no one recorded the 20mm vs 8 .303s simulated wing test, it was very interesting, and also it many of the pilots saying it took a 3 second burst at 200-100 yards to "set a 109e ablaze" same for a he111 engine. they also speak of 20mm and saying the spit and hurricane pilots would usually bail after 3-6 hits but plane would be intact.

Indeed, interessting. In Il2, hurricane-pilots seldom bail out after a 0,3 second burst (= 3 shots by MGFF)

That was a great little movie... shows that an inexperienced pilot can cause on his leader. One question though, while it looked very real, which i'm at the same time, sure it wasn't, where were the bullet trails, Brit and German guns alike uaually fired a tracer every 5-10 bullet so let the pilot know where his bullets were going. I couldn't see any in that movie. Just curious...

Otherwise very nice

If I recall correctly, this clip is frlom a show that was one of a series where famous weapons were pitted against each other. It was either on History or Discovery. I think they also did one on Tiger tank vs. Sherman and AK-47 vs.M-16.

Good find.

It`s very nice, but it`s CGI. In other words it isn`t real, but computer generated.

There are a few things wrong on close inspection.

1. No damage effects from bullet hits (FB actually shows bits falling). No shell casings.

2. The wingman surely should have responded. He has TWO chances, the first time nothing, fair enough for as a green pilot, but he had ample time the second. The Spit literally sat in front of him.

There`s more...

Then again, it`s just for show to demonstrate to non-WWII sim viewers. It`s not really being absolutely realistic.

Spit attacked leader, if he had a brain he would have knocked down the wingman first.... http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-tongue.gif
