Well I'm off to the UK on Friday... Any interesting place/museums/pubshttp://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/halo.gif in London, central.
It's only a short visit, 1 week. I was hoping to go to Germany as well, but that didn't work out http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/bigtears.gif

London is great for tourists, you'll find loads of stuff there and tons of tourist information so don't worry about finding things to do. In London, definitely go to the Imperial War Museum, and if you can get out of London, go to Duxford - some fantastic planes on show there, and they usually have a couple of Spitfire's / P51's flying around this time of year - you may get lucky!

You can get to IWM Duxford from Victoria coach station, takes 2 hours and its only cheap. Or you can get the train takes a bit longer, but also cheap. If you get the train you will need to take the bus from cambridge, but it runs quite regular so its ok.

IWM in Lambeth Road is quite good too, very good actually, as long as you dont mind digging out all the best bits. Lots of reading to do too.

Theres alot to do around London, and its really quite easy to find out about everything too. Have fun.

Oh yea, Hendon is great!

If you get a chance and know where this place is, check it out. A friend just came from London a couple of weeks ago and visited this underground War Room.

From what I've been told, it has been preserved as it was when it was originally closed at the end of WWII. well, except for that wax guy standing there. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/winky.gif

I'm sure some of our British friends would be able to tell you where it is, if you are interested.

I strongly recommend the Imperial War Museum, London: http://london.iwm.org.uk/server.php?show=nav.00b

There are parts of the IWM all over - Duxford is one and there is a good one in Manchester, too - currently hosting an exhibition on Bomber Command: http://north.iwm.org.uk/server/show/conEvent.1010

If you are over in the south west at all, then also check out the Fleet Air Arm Museum in Yeovilton: http://www.fleetairarm.com/index2.htm

Have fun,

There's a thing they call "British Museum" which is full of non-British things. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/59.gif

It's full name, Dux Corvan, is "The British Museum of Stuff We Looted Fair and Square."

The Tower has a nice collection of Medieval armour. Across from the Tower is HMS Belfast, a light Cruiser and part of the IWM that's worth a shufty.

If you're into art there's the National Gallery on Trafalgar Square that's got an exhausting ammount of pictures in it, and then there's the Tate Modern on the South Bank which has a permanent collection that's very good, as well as temporary exhibitions that...er...is a little tast dependent.

The Tate is utter ****. Don't go! I promise you it's ****!

If you're taking kids - slightly older ones - the London Dungeon is great fun, although expensive. in fact, everything is expensive! I DARE you, as an expereice, to buy a tank of petrol when you're here... see if you have any spending money left http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
