...........using a Gladiator, saved the track (which plays just fine) and it won't upload properly!!!!!!!!

I know most people won't think it's a big deal but it's not easy taking down one of those big brutes in a Glad and I wanted to share.

Thanks guys-
I just wish I knew why the track won't upload, it's pretty cool to watch. As I said, it plays fine for me, but when I upload to my webspace and try to click on it, I get a text file. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

Maybe I'll try to make another one.
A B-29, eh? Hmmmmmmmmm.............

The track is basically a text file - your browser just defaults to "reading" it.

To get round this put it in a zip file and then people will get the option to download it to their computers.

Now thats a challenge. I think even a B29 thats on its stall speed will still out run a gladiator!

Worked fine.

Nice work, I am really surprised that you did it from behind. I figure you were going to show a headshot on the pilot. Why did you do it the hard way (from behind?)

BTW what was the skill level of the FW? It sure looked like they were poor shots. (Thankfully you picked off the dorsal gunner!)

Hi Waldo,
The AI was "ace", (3 in the AI level, 0= rookie, 1=average 2=veteran, 3=ace)

It was really more from the high rear that I attacked, I was going for high overhead or high side passes, but the darn thing is so fast compared to a Gladiator that I ended up largely behind him, although not in the classic (and usually suicidal) stern attack position.

I sure did get lucky when I took out the dorsal gunner!

I dont know what kind of joke this is but i dont see the funny point...? On the track i have gotten you make one pass on the bomber and then you make like 5 into the air and end the mission by crashing, you do by no lenght take down a FW-200.

That happens when you are viewing the track with a different version than that it was recorded on. You're running on 3.04?

.trk's get messed up across different versions but .ntrk files don't screw up.

@ valkyrie: What covino said. It is a .trk file recorded in 3.04.
Thanks for clearing that up, Covino.

LOOL ROFL. So are you guys saying that track files played/recorded across different version will be playable but may end in totaly non-sense action?

Heh, I got to try that then. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/34.gif

I am playing FB/AEP/PF 3.04... what version have you recorded it in?

Worked for me, I am patched to 3.04. When I had the original IL2, I needed to reinstall the game for some reason, I don't recall why. Before I did, I saved all my tracks. I reinstalled, but apparently I patched something in the wrong order. When I put my old tracks back in my new game, I got this type of crazy stuff on playback... my plane firing at nothing, crashing into the ground, etc. They played, but not correctly.

Don't know if that has anything to do with why you aren't seeing the correct playback, but maybe it illustrates that all kinds of weird stuff can happen with .trk files for various reasons.
