I do not want this software on my PC and as much a fan of IL2 as I am I will not tolerate being forced to add unwanted and unpaid for software.

I am paying for 4.07 and that is all I expect to end up with - not some 3rd party software.

So, how do I avoid the installation of this Boonty stuff please?

I have a current 4.05m install.
Have paid for and downloaded the 766 odd MB of files using this Boonty utility .. but have not yet run the game or rebooted the PC.

Tks,

Boonty has been banished! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

I don't think 4.07 is availble for download yet but on IL-2: 1946 DVD Securom is the new protection system, which works fine for me.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

OK.. I have been away a while and not sure what is happening. I went to UBI site last night and paid for teh three add-ons as a downlaod package .. got a Boonty install instead.. ran that, it searched my PC and then downloaded some 766MB of files .. I assume it simply overwrote the 4.05m files as needed to update the game with the three add-ons.

I have not run the game or rebooted as yet but a regedit found a swag of Boonty entries .. which I deleted .. just want to ditch this **** application.

If thats the case, what you need to do is before installing the add-ons, copy the IL2.exe and IL2FB.exe files to a safe location.

Install the addons and when its all done replace the the files mentioned above with the ones you copied earlier. The boonty system is wrapped in the .exe files and they'll be a lot bigger in size than the originals.

I am surprised that boonty is still there for the download version of 4.07. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/blink.gif

I've been wondering if uninstalling boonty gets rid of something like how if you uninstalled it with Pe-2 it would take away a few missions.

WTF? I had 4.05 by D/L and removed Boonty and didn't lose any missions.
