The following Thread may contain spoilers for some of the unlockables in the game containing the comic book covers... read at your own risk.

Okay, I was doing some digging and I ran into a site that has some covers for the TMNT comic book. If you think you can find some characters that might make it into the game just by looking at the covers (they HAVE to be from the comics, the 4ids TV shows - 4Kids is doing the voice overs for the game, so you have to use your head for this, and the 80's cartoon), then post who you think that you might see may make it into the game.

Here's the site:

sounds a little random ^^

so you want everybody to look at the covers and guess who's gonna be in the game? well ...

and did you know that on the official turtles site you can't just look at the covers but also read almost every issue? http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

it's not that hard to find.

go to the comic book section, then choose the first one under past series, click on issue 1, there in the text it says "to view large images that illustrate the difference in printings, CLICK HERE". click there http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif then scroll down, at the end of the page it says

"Read the entire first issue of the original TMNT comic book HERE!"

It's easier to just scroll to the bottom of the "Comic Books" page. They list out all the issues they have available online. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I stopped reading them because they were too small... http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif Gave me a headache..

Is there any way to make the scans bigger?

DOS_Turtle

^^ well it's not that hard to read.

the only way to make the scans bigger is do it yourself in photoshop like i did.

You can use your browser's "zoom in" tool... It's usually under "View". http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif Holding CTRL and scrolling the mouse-wheel up and down also works for some browsers.

Also, they just released a new book that has the first 11 issues, all four microseries, and Fugitoid #1. See here. (http://paneltopanel.net/shop/product_info.php?products_id=2633&osCsid=18dc6d816762bb4d305039e5e1819b12) They also released a book a year or two ago that has all 7 original Tales of the TMNT issues which includes the first appearances of character like Leatherhead, Rat King, and Nobody; but I don't think it's still in print, so it will probably be much harder to find.

lol

"Hand over em FUGITOIDZ!!!" XD

Yeah, I might as well zoom in the browser, but I'm using Firefox 2, so Ctrl + Wheel = useless. I didn't know about View options though, I'll try that out. Thanks

you're reading them in your browser?

i'm saving them and reading them in the windows picture and fax displaying program.

By the time Firefox finishes downloading a page, I've already read one and a half. Everytime I save anything, no matter how small in size it is, Firefox stops responding for 5-10 seconds.

Sure, it'd be awesome if I could read all the comics, though I've been watching the 2003 cartoon. It's pretty cool, though I'm certain that the Battle Nexus might've been a bloodbath in the comic, as opposed to the cartoon... Oh well, at least it was still cool.

Actually, the Battle Nexus was an original story for the 2003 cartoon just like Garbageman and Nano and a bunch of other stories. They did finally bring the Battle Nexus into the comics in Volume 4, but we haven't seen the result of that discovery yet because Laird takes his time with Volume 4, releasing an issue once or twice a year lately.

It was original!? Wow! It felt different to the boring Garbageman and Nano episodes, so I thought it was originally from the comics.

So far I've enjoyed the battle against Shredder, the Fugitoid/Triceraton/Federation crisis, the Battle Nexus, and the Triceraton invasion. Anything related to Baxter Stockman is cool too.

What I've hated the most so far, was anything involving Silver Sentry or any other in-show superhero. It's not even interesting.. But so far the show's been more enjoyable than not.

So how many comics did the original creators write, in total? (Before handing the series over to Archie Comics or any other comic company)

a little difficult to say. but you can look it up on the official turtle page ^^

it was that there was a time when peter laird and kevin eastman gave the comics to others for some time and then returned to the series.

they did 16 comics together, thereafter it is a little hard to trace, cause one time there was nobody of the two involved, then one, then the other.

i don't now if your up to the latest news, but kevin eastman sold all his rights to peter laird and peter laird is still quite involved in anything about the turtles, he even wrote the story for SMASH UP. i think it really is great that he still cares so much about the series.

he and the filmmakers will soon reboot the movies, this time based on the original comics. i'm quite excited about that http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif even more because it will be live action with costumes, only that the faces will be done by a computer.

I'm still not too sure about all the details, but Kevin still has the right to publish certain things as evident by his Artobiography, Bodycount, and 25th Anniversary books. Kevin still cares about the TMNT too; in fact, I think he was largely responsible for getting the CGI movie started. He and Peter just couldn't work well together anymore, so Kevin gave it up to focus on his Heavy Metal stuff.

hehe, earlier this day i sent an e-mail to the official website of tmnt as they didn't upload #17 which was announced for june. i just received a reply that the "mirage studios offical web dude" (that's his signature ^^) totally forgot about that and will upload it by the end of the week.

a single man can change the world http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

(talking about me and pushing the uploads of the comics, just telling if you didn't get it ^^ well anyway ...)

Dan Berger gets busy with a lot of stuff (y'know, other than running the website and doing story/art for random issues of Tales), so I wouldn't doubt him forgetting stuff every so often.
